Buckrooster 2 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "American Cancer Society Spokesperson" 03-13-05, 10:00 PM (EST) "Anybody know who's coming back?" Wow, what another great show!! Any guesses as to what happens next week that one of the boxers has to leave the show? I wonder who it will be and why? More importantly, who will be the eliminated boxer to come back? My guess is that it will be Jonathan Reid -- Amahad and Peter are too threatening to the $1 million dollar prize to be allowed back in (although I'd like nothing more than to see Manfredo Jr back in the mix of things). Any thoughts?   Top

I read that spoiler link -- damn, I was really believing that this show WAS "the real deal." I can really see them bringing Manfredo Jr back -- physically, he's the biggest stud of the group; not to mention that his wife was smokin' hot and added to the viewing pleasure for the common male. Even if the show is an inflated version of Rocky VI with less-than-average fighters, it's still pretty entertaining. Nonetheless, it just goes to show that there really is no integrity in show business.   Top

I guess well knew who was comming back but what I want to know is who left the show and why? I hope it was not Joey due to his hamster leg (hamstring) I like Joey as an underdog. I sure as hell hope it aint my boy Alfonso. I guess that is what I understood in the show that someone had to leave? Or was it that they wanted to even the teams more? I say bring back all of them and let them fight amongst themselves in the ring for no less than 8 rounds. LOL   Top

I think it is ridiculous that they are bringing anyone back. I really liked this show but I will be disappointed if they are giving guys a second chance. How is that fair to anyone else on the show if they allow a fighter back in to compete for the million after the fighter has lost a fight?   Top

I think it would be awful if they brought Ahmed back, for one he did not fight a clean fight, he would not win, and he doens't stand a chance with the more experienced boxers. If they do bring him back it's strictly a ratings grab and I don't know if I would continue watching (lying of course). Hopefully they bring someone back who is worth it, now here is my question. If they bring someone back than would they have to fight again? Or would they be pushed to the final 8. As it doesn't appear that they are having many breaks between fights, as they guys who have previously fought still look beaten up. I am assuming this is day after day. Would it be fair to bring someone back who fought just a few days before and risk having them be chosen to fight again?   Top

"Rumor" LAST EDITED ON 03-16-05 AT 01:27 PM (EST) The rumor is that someone sprains his wrist severely enough to not be able to fight in the first round. But I don't know whom that may be. Like I said above, there have to be a certain number of episodes due to TV commitments. There isn't time to recruit alternates (remember, there's a fight every three days, so the whole first round only lasted 24 days, and we've already used 9 of them prior to the injury), and I presume Burnett didn't keep any alternates hanging around. So what else could you do except bring a "loser" back? More interesting to me is the strategy of the vote on whom to bring back. Like I said, that has to be where the episode title comes from.   Top

Aside from that, if they bring someone back in as a replacement that's fine with me. Someone made a point about the team-decision making in this. I think it would be unfair to Manfredo and Ahmed because, if them guys were smart, they wouldn't pick either of them. Sure they're a team, but eventually they have to fight one another. This, I hope they realize. But even with that said... It would nice if they voted Jonathan back on the show. He was a cool guy, and a leader...something the East DEFINITELY needs! He provided an almost fatherly, mentor-like presence. He's around my age so maybe I'm biased and I was rooting for him to take the thing but that is besides the point. I do think he was a positive for the team. But most of all, with 4 kids and 1 one the way, he would be most deserving of a chance to earn some extra cash. He really needs it more than the other two. Maybe they should've relied on a lotto-pick 'em, draw a number type set-up. That way it would be plain 'ol "luck of the draw." No questions asked. (Since it's not, I'm still hoping for O.G. Triple O.G.!!!)   Top

Hey this is "Pro Boxing", if you show up over weight..You Lose, (ask PacMan) If you get hurt and cant continue...You Lose, (ask Vitali Klitschko). But! If you get beat you can get a rematch, a second chance. So while im upset that the rumors are true and Manfreod is coming back, and Im going to have to listen to more talk about how great he is for getting whooped by Alfonso (the only real talent he ever got in the ring with) and Im going to have to sit by and watch as he picks one of the lesser or younger fighters to brawl with than later in the show he gets knocked silly by one of the three top guys again. I cant say im that upset they are giving someone a second chance. But hey if it were my show, I would want to shake things up a bit, get say Travis Simms, or a fighter with that type of KO punch. Or maybe have each side East and west vote alone, than let the 2 guys they picked fight to get back on the show, cancel an episode of medium and hold the fight than, nobody watches medium anyways. I hope we learn in episode 4 that the producers saw this as a chance to make the show better and not as an excuse to get one of their favorites back on, but if history tells us anything...well you know. And just for the record I am not going to pick a winner between Erik and Manny, all I know is this should be one of the best fights of the year.   Top

I'm just gonna have to plug my ears, hum to myself, and act like I didn't hear that. I am holding out hope that the East didn't vote him back on. If they were smart they wouldn't have done that. Now, to Manny-Morales... As far as bettin' money, put it on the underdog if the odds are good enough. This is such a pick 'em fight, that as far as money goes, it would be the only rational thing to do (for a betting line, I'm talking about.) What are the latest odds, anyway? I know Morales was the underdog, last I heard. If he's 3-1 or higher, I would take it. I don't think TOO much stock should be put in Manny's win over M.A.B. Barrera, from what I understand, had a f*cked-up-all the-way-around camp. Nothing went right it seemed, and I think it showed. This is not to take anything away from Manny, though, cuz' I think only him and Morales would've been capable of taking full advantage over that Barrera that night, anyway.   Top

Because of the relatively light posting volume for this show, this forum accomodates everyone. (On busier forums, like Survivor, The Amazing Race and The Apprentice, we have a separate spoiler forum, but we won't have that here unless the show picks up more viewers or the forum picks up more posters.) But you're also right that we try to keep some threads (particularly speculation threads like this one) spoiler-free, with perhaps a link to potential spoilers in other threads.   Top
