Oooh oooh I know this one! I've been the owner of a Toyota Prius since 2009. I bought a used 2007 model with 45k miles on it, and now I'm up to 121k. I absolutely love it. Fuel economy: I do 90% of my driving in-city and average about 45-50 miles to the gallon, with the average fill-up costing $32 and running me just under 500 miles.
Winter driving: It's not fantastic in the snow..I tend to drift a bit more than I did with the Corolla I had before this, but it's not bad enough to keep me from working when it snows, and I travel house to house all day.
Battery: The Prius uses two...the hybrid battery and a traditional car battery. I had to replace the traditional battery last year, but the Prius battery still looks strong.
Roominess: Darn sight better than the Corolla. My teenage boys don't complain about sitting in the back.
Maintenance: Same as a fuel only vehicle, no additional expenses.
And best of all, my company reimburses me for mileage. That check covers all of the gas and the payment each month, with a little left over for me. Every time the odometer clicks, I hear money.
