I mean Alex is athletic and outspoken and lays it all out there for everyone to see, and he is doing fairly well. Rob, on the other hand, is just right there below the surface. He influences every decision without appearing to be the one driving the boat – he has a hand in everything that’s going on." "Butch – now there’s an under the radar guy! She says Heidi is a real manipulator and that she thinks Heidi, along with Alex, turned Jenna against her.   Top

"RE: Probst comments from this morning" Wanted to give this a little bump, cause I think this will be the key to Episode 10. "THAT'S the thing right there – the Jenna/Heidi bond is what people should watch out for.” I think that, coupled with this "A Survivor promises to vote against a trusted ally, sending the wounded friend into a flutter." is how we get to an Alex boot. Alex says something to Jenna about them being a Final 2, Jenna repeats it to Heidi, and Heidi (right now, the only candidate for the role of 'wounded friend') goes into a flutter. Then, when Matt wins immunity, Heidi suggests booting Alex. She feels confident in doing so because she (along with Rob and Jenna) feel they can still control Matt to vote off Butch or Christy later.   Top

Or maybe, in the aftermath of the above conversation, Rob plants the idea in Heidi's head that Jenna will vote against her?   Top

I don’t think Matt, Butch, and Christy would believe Jenna or Heidi if they told M/B/C that they were voting against Alex. But they would believe Rob. And, if J/H wanted Alex out, they would have to get at least one of M/B/C to vote with them. Thus, they would need Rob to spread the word.   Top

LAST EDITED ON 04-15-03 AT 01:40 PM (EST) I don't know - it would have to mean something pretty drastic to happen on Heidi's part - like Rob really persuading her, or a fight with Alex. In ep. 9, Heidi went running to Jenna to tell her about Deena wanting to boot Alex, with her confessional saying that she had an alliance with them and wasn't going to go against it. Heidi wanting Alex gone just doesn't add up. (Edit to add: I just saw Brownroach's post about Alex and Rob's conversation - now it makes sense! I didn't see that Alex was planning on voting against her.) (Of course, until we saw Gabe getting his torch snuffed, I'd have called anyone crazy who said Rotu would vote him out in a landslide, LOL!! So who knows?) "His name is Blane??? PIP, I just saw your reference to my post -- just to be clear, Alex hasn't actually said he plans to vote against Heidi (that we know of). Devious Weasel and I were just speculating, based on the Alex/Rob conversation, that Heidi might become persuaded that he is going to vote against her, either by Jenna or by Rob.   Top

At this point Rob knows he will be the one voted out by the other three. He also realizes that he has Matt and Butch. Christy has already voted against Alex because he is a threat. Rob teams with the other three. They vote out Alex next. Where do you get that Alex and Rob are friends? Or have an alliance? After Alex is voted out (next episode). The controlling four (Rob, Matt, Butch and Christy) then vote out Heidi the following week. After that one of two things happen. Or both. Jenna may win immunity or Matt, Butch and Christy now realize they are in control and get tried of Rob trying to be the leader and vote him out. There you are now left with the final four. Heidi and Jenna will never turn on each other. You are buying the CBS hype again. If any 'friend' turns on another it will be Matt turning on Rob. Or Rob on Heidi (see below). Clues are never the most obvisious choices. After Alex gets voted out. Heidi and jenna may also now know they are the next two to go. So Heidi goes straight to Matt and Maybe Butch and tells them Rob's strategy. Rob has been way too open about what a clueless idiot he thinks Matt is. The two friends might also be Heidi and Rob. Remember the crush? We will probably see Rob and Heidi getting along well this coming week. We were not told Rob digs Heidi for it not to come into the picture sooner or later. Also remember Rob saying that outside the game Heidi would not give him the time of day. He'd get rid of her in a second and I predict foreshadowing.   Top

Well, I'm not sure we ever suggested Alex and Rob were friends. But as for an alliance, there is this from the Yahoo Premium stuff Marcopolo posted "Rob (speaking to Alex): The problem here is that the two of them have a deal to get to the final three. You and I made a deal to get at least to the final three. Someone is going to be screwed over." That would suggest an alliance in place between Alex and Rob. Further, I don't think any of us believe that Jenna and Heidi will turn on each other. Alex may have told Rob that, but that doesn't mean that Rob (or we) believe him. On the other hand, Rob, knowing the insecurity of his position within the Kool Kids Alliance, may take that to Heidi (the only person at present that we know fits the definition of a wounded friend - well, Butch is wounded, but I just can't see him going all a flutter). And it may, in fact probably will, turn out to be nothing, cause she and Jenna will hug and everything will be okay again. But it could lead to a possibility of Jenna and Heidi being willing to vote against Alex. A remote possibility, perhaps, but a possibility nonetheless.   Top

I believe Rob & Alex HAD an alliance, just like D/J/H HAD an alliance -- I think it was made pretty clear last week that once Hef & the girls got together their previous alliances went out the window. They were willing to string Deena (and now Rob) along until Deena decided to target one of them. The strongest (or only)actual alliance at this point is A/J/H, with Rob along for numbers. He'll see that, and that's why he'll jump. As for the 'wounded' friend, I took that to mean hurt feelings, not a literal physical injury.   Top

Rob did tell Deena that he and Alex had an alliance when they came over to Jabaru. And Rob and Alex had a convo with Matt where Alex and Rob told Matt they would be final 3. So Rob and Alex had agreed to an alliance at one time. But whether they both planned to honor it is another thing.   Top
