LAST EDITED ON 02-25-09 AT 09:29 AM (EST)American Clowns!I'm sensing a theme for this season. Humiliate the contestants in as many countries as possible. First, the Swiss landscape kicking their butts and now throwing German pies in each others' faces. The luckiest person was definitely Luke, though. At least he couldn't hear the annoying music, which must've been a godsend. Week 2 Results 1st place - Tammy/Victor (2x) 2nd place - Mel/Mike (1.3x) 3rd place - Amanda/Kris (1.2x) 4th place - Margie/Luke (1.1x) 5th place - Brad/Victoria (even) 6th place - Cara/Jaime (even) 7th place - Lakisha/Jennifer (.9x) 8th place - Mark/Michael (.8x) 9th place - Christie/Jodi (.7x) 10th place - Linda/Steve(0x) And Then There Were... 49!?!?!?!Hmmmmm, funny. Last week we were down to 43 players. Now we're going into the opposite direction. It's such a shame we weren't able to hit 50 players, because of someone in Week 1. *shakes fist at Max Headroom* Week 2 went pretty well. Tammy/Victor was an extremely popular pick again, so it boosted a lot of scores. Mark & Michael bumped some back, however. Speaking of which, the Tammy/Victor Fun Club has chugged along for another episode. Can flipxcyd, beau_30, KwietOne, ARNutz, and Higgs keep on rolling with them? dragonflies already broke off from the pack. So the real question is, who will be next? Each week, the Perfect Bet Award goes to a player who makes a particularly good bet. In a lot of weeks, like this one, a lot of people will double-up, so it'll be an arbitrary crapshoot like this week. For Week 1, I'm awarding it to HauntedOne who doubled-up from 2 points to 4 points. Because I admire his (her) moxie. And because I want to see a huge comeback. The Greatest Gainer Award goes to the player who moved up the most ranks in the leaderboard. This week's winner is SilverStar who moved 15 ranks to #19 with a double-up. Niiiiiice. Leaderboard 1. HauntedOne - 4 Yogi is continuing his run for the Perfect Season ever. Although, technically, tvgeek401 also has one going, but missed Week 1. So if tvgeek401 does it, we'll just throw an asterisk next to the record. New Players Still Welcome!Up until Week 4, the Casino Game will accept new entrants to the game. For a detailed listing of the rules, see the fine print below. 1. Each player in Week 3 starts with 10 points. In every subsequent week, this amount decreases, so join now. Also, these are the only points you get, so don't waste them. Once you run out of points, you're out of the game.2. Every week, you may choose to wager any or all of your points on the various teams. In previous seasons, there was a cap on the number of points you can wager. In this game, there's no limit. You can wager as many of your points as you want, on as many teams as you want. Regulations are for the auto industry. We're going No Limit this season, folks. 3. You don't have to bet all your points. Any points you don't wager are banked, and will be carried over to the following week without risk. Don't have a good feeling about this week? Then go conservative. Got a hunch on another? All-In, baby. 4. Decimals are evil. Therefore, all wagers must be a whole number. Also, in scoring your entries, all decimal points will be rounded up. It makes the scoreboard prettier that way. No one wants to see a final score of 693.22463 to 612.1935. 5. Absenteeism sucks. If you miss three straight entries, you're eliminated from the game. If you're going to be on vacation, send me a note and I'll keep the records. I'll even take wagers in advance. 6. All entries must be entered before showtime: Sunday, March 1st, 8 PM Eastern Time. Any entries after that time will not be counted. Any edits to an existing entry after the deadline will be penalized. The clock is based on the clock on this message board. I may change the deadline if the forums' clock gets all wonky again, like last year. 7. Your wagers will be scored based on the almighty Payout Table. The Payout Table gives a multiplier value to each ranking, and determines the return on your wagers. Each of your individual wagers are multiplied by their appropriate multipliers, and then totaled together. For example, here's the Payout Table for Week 3. Week 3 Payout Table 1st place - 2x 2nd place - 1.75x 3rd place - 1.5x 4th place - 1.25x 5th place - Break even 6th place - .75x 7th place - .5x 8th place - .25x 9th place - 0x This week, you have the option of going with another payout table, if you don't like the first one! What a twist! Week 3 Payout Table - Version 2 1st place - (8/4)x 2nd place - (7/4)x 3rd place - (6/4)x 4th place - (5/4)x 5th place - (4/4)x 6th place - (3/4)x 7th place - (2/4)x 8th place - (1/4)x 9th place - (0/4)x TAR14 Teams Remaining Amanda/Kris Brad/Victoria Cara/Jaime Christie/Jodi Lakisha/Jennifer Margie/Luke Mark/Michael Mel/Mike Tammy/Victor Good luck, everyone! See, I'm already in 10th place. It's only a matter of time until I win this thing. My strategy is to copy Yogi's wagers until I pass him by.
