My SIL who does gamble told me to stay away from penny slots and look for 2 or 3 'bangers' as she said they were a. cheaper in long run and b. more likely to pay out. Spend pennies, win pennies but I'm not looking to win - just spend some time and get a couple of drinks.I'm guessing this means quarter machines that go at fifty or seventy-five cents a spin. You'll have less winners, but they may in fact pay more if you do hit.
I read online that the topless pools do not insist on women going topless and women at those tend to get in free. I have been to many beaches and it would not bother me plus the guys would be paying more attention to the other women.
True on both of the first counts: it's just that some people do get ambushed on their initial visit, and reactions really do vary. A warning is appropriate until you know the local comfort level.
Thanks for the suggestion on the discount mall. I know that many (really most) of the stores merchandise is not discounted at all and may be of inferior quality. Buyer beware is only more adept at an outdoor flea market and you tend to believe the tags as you 'know' the store name.
Be especially careful of stores inside the casinos. The goal there is frequently 'You just had a big hit? Let's see how much of that we can take from you.' Luxury items you'd never spend a thousand dollars for, but since you just happen to have a 'free' thousand dollars in your purse...
Oh -- one extra warning on the shopping. There's at least one pawnshop hosting a reality show in the area, and other places like to have series in and out as the cash flow provides. Look for 'walk in and your image is ours forever' signs before you go inside.
