since it's the subject Memphis has always had much higher airfares than Little Rock AR & Nashville. Many people will drive to either of these (several hours) to save on the airfare; and yes, even with the high gas prices you're still saving money - just not time (business travelers probably are using Memphis)
This was actually on the news this morning; Memphis is one of the top 3 in the US for highest air fares!
& it's all because the city wants/needs the money to operate the airport and of course line the pockets of the mayors, etc.
They are actually trying to get a few more airlines to use the airport to hopefully lower fares.
Anyone else drive out of your way to get lower fares?
