PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate
attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't
be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats,
but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other
posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out
how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are
encouraged to read the
complete guidelines.
As entertainment critic Roger
Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."
There are, of course, lesser routines that can tell a story without explanation because they're more obvious. Like Mia's "Mercy" (door) routine last season.
It's important to keep in mind that these routines are a minute and a half long. That's why the explanation is most always necessary. If they can tell a (less obvious) story in that short amount of time, they're really something special. And we've seen that twice this season!
Tyce's "This Woman's Work" had everything frodis said it did. Could you tell specifics without the explanation (or the scarf)? Perhaps not. But I do think the general story was told brilliantly in that 90 or however many seconds because you could see all the different emotions. You could tell they were going through something terrifying and that he was trying his best to be her strength. When Tyce decides to do a truly emotive routine, he blows the rest away. IMO. And. You can't tell me he didn't ask for Melissa and Ade specifically.
