I think the problem that some may have with Evan is the same that some will have with certain actors. It doesn't matter what movie they are in, it looks like "A-list actor playing role" rather than "character in movie". I have that problem with Brendan Fraser.
So, you might project your expectations onto him which might influence the way you view the dance. At least, I think it does for Nigel, at the very least.
