For the really low value of happy which feels that at least the sentence was right.http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/crime/2012/05/dharun_ravi_received_a_light_sentence_for_spying_on_tyler_clementi_.html What I'm mostly feeling is frustration with the former defendant. I was hoping he would speak in court today. Like the judge, I wanted to see him stand and openly say "I screwed up." Admit that he wronged Tyler, he knew it now, he was older and wiser and not that jerk kid any more, and he'd take whatever was coming to him. And yes, I knew that was just about impossible. But for him to say anything that wasn't a media exclusive -- there was a little hope of that. And then there wasn't. Before the sentence was handed out, the judge noted that he'd seen the jurors say "Guilty' two hundred and eighty-eight times -- twelve jurors, twenty-four charges/points. He'd never heard Dharun Ravi say "Sorry" once. I don't think we're ever going to hear it.
