Some of the comments I've seen have to be dismissed as heavy-duty trolling. (I hope.) There's a lot of trying to blame the victim. A lot of it. Screaming about how the act captured/attempted to be broadcast should be the crime. We've already got at least one FreeDharun site. More than a little of the above is completely serious.
There's been accusations of racism. (One of my favorite comments on this noted that if the jury finds against Ravi, they're clearly racist, but if they found for him, they're just as clearly homophobic. Lose-lose.)
Reactions ranging from disbelief to fury on the wording of the law because it seems to force the jurors to use any evidence as a means of essentially reading minds.
More blaming the victim, this time for being "weak". I wish I could believe all those people were trolls.
There are days when I would argue for the Internet itself as a single ongoing hate crime.
