Chicago hires Marc Trestman, who has been head coaching in Canada for the last seven years. Fascinating choice. When Trestman was the offensive coordinator in Oakland in 2002 (and revived Rich Gannon's career), he was already considered to be damaged goods as an NFL head-coaching candidate. Yet he's still viewed as an offensive genius (and, from my perspective, he still is one). I really hope he succeeds.Cleveland hires Rob Chudzinski. who just presided over Carolina's on-again, off-again offense for the last two years. To me, he was a far more surprising choice than Trestman, although most pundits view it differently. We'll see. I'm not hopeful. San Diego hires Denver's offensive coordinator Mike McCoy. He served under John Fox in both Carolina and Denver, and also under Josh McDaniels in Denver. It's hard to know how he'll do, but he just about has to be better than his predecessor (Norv Turner), because it would be very hard to be worse.
