ON THE NEXT SURVIVOR News from home draws sharp responses for one Survivor and may impact that person's future. A group of Survivors renew their vow to one another and concoct a plan to get one of their own to "infiltrate" the others. Meanwhile, other tribal allegiances fall by the wayside as one Survivor vows to "stir things up." I still think the Jake thing is the news from home...maybe a new car they bought or a new house...the only other thing that it could be is perhaps a family member's death that causes sympathy (which I doubt), or possibly their folks won the lottery and they don't necessarily need to win anymore? Renew their vow sounds like Ken/Jake. Stir things up sounds like a Brian quote, although didn't Jake say something about stirring up in the video preview?

>CG has no reason at >all to care about what's >going on with SJ. I disagree. Helen and Jan know that they're the odd women out in their tribe. It would make sense for them to approach SJ for an alliance. Brian - who's been playing hard all along - has probably realized this potential threat, and plans on beating Helen and Jan to the punch. So they need to be very aware of what's going on in SJ.

I'm thinking back to the old "we're divided by sex" thing when Ghandia was voted off. There's three guys and two girls.Even after the merge, if they pagong SJ, and end up with their 5 members, Helen and Jan are likely to go, while the guys remain tight. But if H/J make a new alliance with, say, Ken and Jake, they have a better shot of making final 3. Jan's probably too dumb to pick up on this, but I think Helen would. Of coarse this is all moot if the secret alliance is Helen and Brian, which Bebo points out.

bebo,I've been spewing about Brian and Helen as a possible alliance but last night made me rethink things a bit. Helen is being edited as very strange..."make a crust, then coat the bottom with finely chopped walnuts" she's odd. She sat out in the one challenge she had the obvious advantage in and made a comment "oh I got a kiss from Clay Jordan, am I queen for the day?". All this points out that Helen is annoying as hell and has Lex syndrome (not knowing when to SHUT UP), her tribe must be sick of the Betty Crocker crap. I don't think Brian would want an alliance with someone as annoying as Helen because it won't help his cause which is HIMSELF. Perhaps he has a a secret alliance with Granny. In spite of the water works and pet semetary everyone loves Granny and she's no dumb hick. Don't think for a moment that lady isn't up to something. The F3 possibilities are changing with the wind but one person remains consistant...Brian, the question is who does he take to the top? I don't think it's Helen...she's being groomed for a boot. F4 PornoBrian, Jake, Granny and EvilPenny....thoughts, ideas????

LAST EDITED ON 11-08-02 AT 12:42 PM (EST)Snooch, I've been on the fence about Brian/Helen for awhile, but now I'm also inclined to think there's nothing there. However, either Helen or Clay would be a good alliance partner for Brian in that they are easily beatable in F2, much more so than Ted or Jan, IMO. On the other hand, with people like Helen, others might want them out of the game sooner, so it gets dicey. The ideal F2 partner has to have just the right level of annoyance factor -- enough, but not too much. It looks like Brian is still keeping his alliance options open, though, so an eventual Helen/Brian convergence wouldn't be out of the question, if she can keep from being booted.

Quote from Jake to Ken: "We ought to create a little bit of a stir."This is far from being the "vow" that is alluded to in the SeeBS misdirection, in which a survivor vows to "stir things up" (note the quotes). Usually, when you surround a phrase in quotation marks, as in "stir things up", it suggests that the phrase is written as it was spoken by...someone. We are assuming it was Jake because he mumbled something about stirring in his talk with Ken. But the quotes don't match. It's possible that Jake's "we oughta" later turned into a "vow", but because the quotes don't match it's also possible that someone else, other than Jake, intends to "stir things up." But then I always read way too much into this BS, and the line probably just refers to Helen vowing to stir the noodles more often so they don't stick to the pot.

14. "The Vow" |
I think the "vow" they are referring to is the one made when the Sookies were talking about how, no matter what happened, they were going to stick together, even if they had to infiltrate the other tribe and so by outward appearances, might look like they were betraying each other.

Jake's house is currently assesed at $176,761 and is 2300 square feet. A nice house but not overly extravagant for Dallas area standards. Someone in this position might have decent cars (especially in the business that Jake is in) but my guess is that $1 million would still be life altering.

ON THE NEXT SURVIVOR “News from home draws sharp responses for one Survivor and may impact that person's future.” News from home is the video RC . The “sharp response” from Helen follows the realization that one of the contestants is financially set and “doesn’t need the money”. Helen: “Brand new cars in the garage - that'd be enough to vote them off because they don't need the money.”
“A group of Survivors renew their vow to one another and concoct a plan to get one of their own to "infiltrate" the others.” The Chuay Gahn are in control and feel comfortable renewing their “we are a family” vows. Brian was shown with Jake in the boat last week, Penny was kissing up to Jan and Ted, so any one of them could easily “infiltrate the others” (remaining Sook Jai) by pretending to form an alliance. “Meanwhile, other tribal allegiances fall by the wayside as one Survivor vows to "stir things up." The remaining Sook Jai realize they are out numbered and their “tribal allegiancies fall by the wayside” as they resort to “Desperate Measures” and “vow to stir things up”. Ken feels vulnerable, so he and Jake are previewed preparing to take “desperate measures”… “Ken: They've been worried since day one that I'm a threat. Jake: We got to create a little bit of stir.”

>“News from home draws sharp responses >for one Survivor and may >impact that person's future.” and “doesn’t need the money”. >> All I will say here is the word "may". Doesn't say will, only may, think this is a famous MB misdirection that the video we see is going to hurt that person; I say it will hurt Helen more. > >A group of Survivors renew their vow to one another and concoct a plan to get one of their own to "infiltrate" the others. Meanwhile, other tribal allegiances fall by the wayside as one Survivor vows to "stir things up." > > These two I put together cuz it may be easier to figure out; in essence they are a continuation of each other. One thing before I make my guess on this. Aside from the comment Clay made to Shii Ann about having Jake and someone else join them, we have been shown NOTHING regarding Chewy alliances EXCEPT Brian/Ted. Where is the talk? There are five of them with newly joined people, no strategizing except for feeling out Jake. Where's the talk of making sure we sack the Sucky's first. Something smells there. Meanwhile we had overkill of the alliance loyalty crap from Sucky last week. This is why I make this statement. If you take the above paragraph and substitute words.... Jake, Penny and Ken renew their vow to one another and concoct a plan to get Jake to "infiltrate" Chewy. Meanwhile, Chewy allegiances fall by the wayside as Jake vows to "stir things up." Or...... The Chewy members renew their vow to one another and concoct a plan to get Brian to "infiltrate" the Sucky's. Meanwhile, Ken, Jake and Penny's allegiance falls by the wayside as Jake vows to "stir things up" Any other fill ins we can do that could make sense?

Why would the chewies need to infiltrate the suckies? All they need to do is vote as a block and eliminate them one by one. I think it has to be members of the suckies that try to break into the chewie inner circle.

Why would the Chewies have to infilitrate? Why does Brian seem so intent on bringing Jake into the fold? Why have we only seen Ted and Brian describe an alliance of sorts, were is Clay/Jan/Helen in this? You are right Pants Optional they do have the numbers so why is Brian cozying up with Jake? If he stops this week, it was a one time thing but if he CONTINUES then apparently the Chewy gang is not a strong gang except for working well together and at least someone from Chewy wants to "infiltrate" the Sucky's in order to create an alliance separate from some of the old Chewys. I'm more inclined to believe that Jake infiltrates and causes a group to fall by the wayside but I'm not convinced that the Chewy 5 is one cohesive alliance
