I couldn't believe the racist tirade that was coming out of that trash's mouth either. I felt sorry for her previously but now I am so glad she is up for eviction. Something goes bad in her direction and she launches into a racist verbal assault on her assailant. I'd like to know which trailer park she lives in and blow it all to bits.

I would like to know what reality you both come from. I am quite sure she did not mean those comments but was just angry and upset. I have heard many a racist comment from all walks of like, including but not limited to, blacks, Asians, whites, grays, blues, oranges, etc..... This is not an uncommon thing and in fact would have been considered rare if she had not done that. So relax, while it is sad, it is normal. She is not a horrible person because she vented in away that may not be the best but is unfortunately normal. If you two can honestly, be honest at least with yourself, have NEVER made a comment that you are ashamed of then by all means more power to ya, but if that was the worst thing you could find wrong, then she is not doing to bad.

There is a lot of controversy flying on most of the message boards today about this. Serveral, those who monitor the live feeds, say that she was just repeating something that Jee had previously said, and that CBS just edited to make it look as though she was sputtering all of these racist remarks on her own.

Yes the term immigrant was used in a derogatory manner as well. I can't recall the exact phrase she used, but her attack of Jee was racially motivated. I may not live in a perfect world but I have respect for people. If I were in her shoes, getting put up for eviction, I may have been angered by Jee the HOH, but I would never attack his race and make it about that. If CBS did edit some of the tapes and Jee said something racist against Erika, then I would have as much issue with him as I do with Erika. For God sakes, we are not children, we are an adults living in North America where we share our lives with people of different colours, race, religion and sexual orientation. This kind of behaviour is ridiculous.

I was utterly shocked to hear the racist barbs that came out of Erika's mouth last night. I felt sick for the rest of the show. What really struck me was that her attack is MORE OFFENSIVE because she said what she said in the heat of the moment (Jee is a "Korean piece of ****" and a "fresh off the boat immigrant"). What does this say about Erika that when she is pissed-off the first thing she resorts to is lambasting someone's race?? She clearly didn't have time to think about how she'd look in front of the cameras. She SPOKE WHAT SHE FEELS-- which is that Jee's "bad" behavior is because he is Korean, i.e. not native to this country. Sorry folks--unless this is convenient editing on CBS's part, I'm inclined to think that Erika is a mean, ignorant woman and I hope she gets what she deserves. Go Jee!

I think it is hardly fair to compare Erika with White Supremist groups in Idaho.Did she make a bad comment? Yes. The "fresh off the boat" thing was wrong. But I think she dislikes Jee for Jee, and doesn't hate him just for his ethnicity. What she said wasn't nice, but I doubt she is really racist. If she had said, "Allison is a dumb blond" it would have been just as mean, and no one would be crying over it. She was mad at Jee, and her angry words were directed at Jee, not every single Korean or immigrant. If I was talking about someone I dislike at my work and called her a " Fat B*tch", that doesn't mean I hate Fat people, just her. I agree that the comments Erika made were not appropriate for TV, but that hardly makes her a KKK member.

I think everyone's taking this a bit too seriously. You're not taking into account that Jee makes for the worst reality tv show contestant ever, and let's face it, he does act like a fresh off the boat immigrant. He can't speak proper english, despite being in the country since he was three, and he is in all ways the extreme stereotype of a Korean male. He is Korean, he is a piece of sh*t, he is an immigrant, and he does act like he's FOB. So I see nothing wrong in what she said. Everyone should get off their high horses and realize what damage Jee and the other obnoxious houseguests are doing to this show. Big Brother is ONLY interesting because of the cast, it has nothing else to rely on, and I think this cast is an utter disappointment.

Nailbone, Was that part of one of the brodcasted shows or in the live feeds? I agree, I feel that was racist as well, even more so as it appears that Nate/Ali/Michelle were considering themselves superior to other races and even their own race. I guess I have come to realize what I may find offensive and racist, other poeple have differing opinions. I initially started this thread, because I was fumed at what Erika said, now a couple of days later my opinion that it was a racist remark still doesn't change.

(Entering a discussion late again--summers are so hectic...)I pretty much agree with indian girl, EnglProf and Schnookie here. Racism is like an iceberg in our society. Mostly you just see the tip and it looks pretty harmless. So excuses for racist comments like this are easy. 'People say stuff in the heat of the moment--it doesn't mean anything.' 'We've all done it.' Etc., etc. as posted above. The way I see it, people who easily make racist comments usually have the whole iceberg somewhere within. Often, they are oblivious of it. But people who have experienced racism see the whole iceberg every time. If you make racist comments, you likely have that iceberg in your soul. Look for it. Melt it. It can be done. My father was an incredible racist. I am not. And always, there is a place for humor. I have no problems with Blonde jokes, or Polish jokes, or religious jokes, even race jokes--depending on this: where are they told? MN Lutherans tell Lutheran jokes to eachother all the time. Many are hilarious. Black Americans do a very black Black humor at times. The difference is just this-- they are sharing humor not putting down people who are not present. The distinction is huge.

Agree, cycle. The way this group just tosses around the word faggot is unbelievable.Earlier I posted about Nathan and Ali but it seems Dana is the biggest phobe of all. Yesterday we had her commenting about Nathan's "Faggotty ass" (with Jun questioning why he was acting so *gay*) and today (early morning) we get "fvcking faggot" in reference to Nathan. I didn't like Dana much anyway and I really could care less about who wins this time around but I will root for the old alliance to win HOH this week just to see her put up and then walk out the door.

... it's pretty much a miracle that they have any material that they can air on the televised portions.I have a sneaking suspicion that there is a gay cast member who is simply laying low right now. During the food competition on the first night Julie Chen was careful in phrasing one of the questions: '... how many cast members are openly gay...'It's interesting that word openly was included. Makes me wonder if someone in the cast is in the closet or at least asked the producers to let them choose if and when they would reveal. If there is a gay cast member and these kinds of homophobic slurs have become common place in the house, it can't be a very nice situation.
