And they don't trust Penny because they think she is sneaky. Erin is keeping her eye on both Ken and Shii Ann. They got the paints and it just seemed to be accidental that it turned out male/female. Ken and Helen were both secretive and didn't want to give their tribes secrets away. But Shii Ann became the motor mouth and blabbed everything to Clay. Clay told her they wanted to grab Jake and one other to take control of the game. Shii Ann said to pick her. She really ratted out Penny. But she said Ken had been her protector.   Top

They get foos and booze... fruit cheese crackers... they haven't clued in that they have their old buffs on! They all meet and say that they are 'aal family'... Penny is really suspicious, though... Shii Ann feels relieved... Plays the race card with Ted... tries to link up with ted as a fellow minority... Shii Ann says everyone on SJ (except Jake and Ken) 'tortured her socially by ostracizing her'... Ted tells her that she is welcome to join CG... Erin is shocked about how fun the CGs are... Jan gets looped... pitches over onto the sand... they all start singing (really badly) Shii Ann does a lounge lizard improv thing... Ted doesn't drink alcohol... complains about Ted's guitar playing which isn't so good when he's blitzed... Brian heads off down the beach to go for a puke... But I find myself not wanting my pick of Ken to go, either. Seems like SJ was a tight bond of Penny and Erin, and a tight bond of Ken and Jake, and Ken and Jake really liked Shii enough to defend her over Jed, Steph and Robb, even though it appeared to us that Robb would have been a better 3rd for the two guys. I just get the feeling that Snewser and others are gonna be right with Shii getting booted, and I don't like it.   Top

Tribe members are in cages hand/foot cuffed, keys are out side, tribe members must use sticks that they tie together with strings to get keys (three for each contestant) once all keys obtained and hand/foot cuffs removed, tribe members must dig out from under cage... Pretty even through out...14 to 14 at end... CG drops last key on ground... drags it in... CG gets to start digging first... hole dug... CG is out while SJ still scrabbling for last key... It's his kingdom and he is subtly controlling and leading the tribe. Shii Ann wants to help the other tribe vote Penny out. Ken is upset that he has been defending Shii Ann and now she is doing everything they warned Ken she would do. Ken told Shii Ann she will screw the whole tribe if she votes against Penny and Erin. While he didn't give his opinion on how he felt about her (good or bad), I definitely got the impression he's not Penny's biggest fan. Whenever I or someone I know uses that terminology about someone (I bet he/she was XXXX in high school), it's NEVER good. It's not any one thing Penny's done, but listening to Ken and Shii talk, I think in real life I'd most definitely get along with Shii, and probably Ken (though the cops I know in RL aren't all that friendly). And I guess I'm taking Shii and Ken's word on Penny, and assuming I'd feel the same way about her. She'd definitely be someone who really CARED about who was prom queen or cheerleader captian, for example.   Top

Theoritically the tribes could still be seperated until one gets down to two people. It would be a great way for Burn-it to send a message to future players to not be stupid and vote off the strong. This might be the case too. The title "sleeping with the enemy" alludes to the fact that they're still seperated in episode 8. Since they are living together the jury will be able to know everybody well enough to pick a winner at the end.   Top

"I've gotta say, Dawg" This is one of those times I feel really good, because I posted this Saturday night, and the basics were right (except they went to both beaches and Ken wasn't Shii's target, and DevilPenny debuted out of invisible land): "This is how I envision it going down: The merge will be delayed by one episode. Only the jury will make the merged tribe, but the first juror will get the usual six days with the Final Two because they are sleeping on the same beach and interacting. The pairing up at RC turns out to be much symbolic ado about nothing--forming new relationships, blah blah blah. They all go to the same beach and some get wasted. They assume the merge will be announced at the IC. They all think there will be a tie vote. Diabolically, MB allows them a day between the quasi-merge and the IC/TC in which to form new relationships with backstabbing potential. Surprise! Biggest Surprise ever! The immunity is a straightforward tribal competition with losing tribe voting out a member. Nothing new except that they spent the last two days assuming the IC would bring a merge, individual IC, tie vote, possible purple rock or betrayal. In a stunning demonstration of Instant Karma, SJ loses IC because they booted their challenge MVPs, and Jiffy's questions about why they were booting Robb when he was winning their challenges for them become oh-so-ironic in retrospect. SJ boots Shii Ann in a TC so unsuspenseful that there's little or no time spent trying to convince us Erin's getting the boot. SJ hands Shii Ann the Kelly Goldsmith award for being a devious ##### and fraternizing with the enemy. YESSSSS! And no source whispered this to me unless you count a couple of good beers... And now Dawg has promised to get me drunk on Halloween!   Top

But what do you make of this teaser for Ep 8 if there's no merge? Members of the two original tribes consider forming alliances with some of their new mates. This is what made me decide the merger would be only delayed by one episode. a) we have the word "original" as if to say there's something else, i.e. a merged tribe. b) why would they even think about alliances with their "new mates" after what happened to Shii Ann--unless they have reason to think the whole group votes? Without the opportunity to vote together, an alliance isn't worth much. I think Burnett would rather see a brief pagonging than a tie merge episode with a random draw. Why do I say brief? Maybe it will go all the way, maybe not, Burnett didn't know when he filmed it. After S4, we saw that players weren't content to be last place in the alliance: soon it will be time for the CG players who feel threatened to ally with the SJ remnants who are playing the game hard enough to save themselves. These people all saw S4 and the fate of the Rotu 4 (that was 6); that's why Brian and Ted have to be so careful...   Top

"Survivor fan trickertreaters" I have no idea where this story should go, so I'll tag it on to the all-purpose thread. A lot of you know I moved to Hawaii this summer. We live in a neighborhood with kids so I figured we'd get some tricker-treaters during Survivor, which runs at 7 here. So I handed my husband the treat-dispensing duties out on the lanai. Meanwhile, I'm in the LR watching on our 30" TV screen, and since there're only French doors between me and the Candy-giving, with no curtains, I knew people could see in. but figured they wouldn't pay any attention, would grab the candy and run, right? All of a sudden I hear the unmistakable sound of a SKATEBOARD coming down our long concrete driveway; then a group of about 5 pre-teens and teens are up the stairs trick-or-treating from my husband ... UNTIL they saw what I was watching! Then it was all, "hey, they're watching Survivor. Wow, Survivor!" They all pressed their faces up against the French doors, and one guy was knocking on a pane, ... so I opened the door and said Hi. "Hey, did they kick anyone off yet? Well, here's my phone number (rattles off phone number I only half hear)--call me when you find out, OK?" Too frickin funny. And my husband thinks I'm the only Survivor-watching freak in these parts!   Top
