BubbleGum 7 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "American Cancer Society Spokesperson" 09-28-02, 11:06 AM (EST) "Torches cannot be trusted ?" In this season.. they DO NOT have their names on the torches... so i guess we can't spoil the game by looking at the colour of the torches ! in Ep2.. when Tanya went into the tribal council area... she was holding a GOLD torch ! later.. when she took her torch to JEFF for "THE TRIBE HAD SPOKEN", her torch's colour is now SILVER !!! does anyone have the vipcaps for this part ?? so i guess that they just simply take a torch !! they do not care whether it is his/hers !!! Sorry.. my english sucks ! hope u guys can understand what i'm trying to say..   Top

I dont remember them ever having name tags on there torches in previous survivors..I know tags got stuck on the torches after they were voted off..but for some reason..I dont remember the torches ever havin name tags on them..when they were carried by the survivors to TC   Top

If it is "grab a torch any torch will do" then the torches are out for spoiling the boots, but they could still be used in a random switch based on the silver and gold bands. It then becomes a question of whether the Chuey Gahn alliance realizes the potential importance of the gold/silver bands and plan and act accordingly when the time comes to keep their alliance intact. Webby, in the first cap above, there is a torch to the left of Tanya. Is this supposed to be John's extinguished torch? Because that one is also silver, but wasn't the one John took in episode 1 gold?   Top

Weird, John's torch was gold, in fact he grabbed two of them initially and they were both gold. Obviously, I reviewed the tape. In episode 1 Tanya's torch was silver but only seen well in proximity to the fire where it was reflecting the yellow of the fire, at least that's how I saw it. In episode 2 when they left camp she was holding a gold torch, but when they entered the TC set she was holding a silver torch, the same one she brought to Jeff to have her flame extinguished. What's going on with these torches? ARRRRRRR!!!!   Top

LAST EDITED ON 09-28-02 AT 10:40 PM (EST) I think they are just trying to 'play us' with the torches. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/09/17/earlyshow/series/survivor/main522306.shtml If you check out the video at CBS you will see that the first torch Jeff uses has a 'silver' band on it. Note: The torch has burn markings and it looks like the initials 'JG' are on it (Jan Gentry?). In the next shot the torch has a 'gold' band. The burn pattern looks different than those from the first torch. Jeff claims that the video is of them building the Tribal council but if you watch it a few times you realize nobody in the picture is actually doing anything. It also has a worker walking in front of the platform and then Jeff jumps over the area and calls out 'wet paint'. My guess is that the shot was taken after the show began. Another picture of interest. It looks like the intials 'GF' on Ghandia's torch (above gold band). I believe here last name is Johnson so the F does not fit.   Top

Who knows Anyone have any caps of John at tribal council with his torch to see wether or not his initals are on the torch? edited to add doesn't Brian's last name sound like hind lick..... guess it would go in sync with his porno career I know I know this belongs in Bashers   Top

I'm totally forgetting the torch issue...I have noticed that in a few previous Survivor series where a tribe goes to TC for the first time, Jeff will say "Grab YOUR torch and dip it into the fire" or something to that extent, he clearly said "Grab A torch" this time...I remember seeing name tags on the torches in some of the previous series, correct me if I'm wrong.   Top

"Correction !" i rewatched Ep 2 ... and when they are departing from their camp site... TANYA was definitely holding a GOLD torch.. and later there was a cap where they walked pass the beach , she was still holding a GOLD torch... but i can't figure out whether it is GOLD or SILVER when she walked into the TC area ! can anyone please figure out this ? Thankss... later.. when her torch was estinguished by Jeff, it became SILVER again...   Top
