Am I the only appalled by this episode? Surely I am not. The raw diet and statement that "Water dehydrates you" (Don't make me give the break-down of the crenation and lysing processes, LOL) are shocking enough, but not sending your children to school, or even home-schooling them because "they will be learning information they will never use" is just... wow. I can't even think of a word to describe the shock to this woman's statements. Simply appalling!!! I sincerely hope someone in Iowa with the Dept. of Children and Families Services watched the episode and launches an effort to educate the family and get that house cleaned up. If you choose to live a certain way that's one thing, but to force your children to forego an education because you don't feel they'll "use the information being provided" is unbelievable.
