A NEW TWIST AT THE START CATCHES THE SURVIVORS OFF-GUARD, WHEN "SURVIVOR: THAILAND" PREMIERES ON THURSDAY, SEPT. 19, ON CBS16 New Castaways Are Stranded on a Remote Island Off The Coast of Thailand
"The Importance Of Being E…est" -- 16 new castaways will be marooned on the remote island of Koh Tarutao as they vie to become the "Ultimate Survivor" on SURVIVOR: THAILAND, premiering Thursday, Sept. 19 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
SURVIVOR: THAILAND will strand 16 Americans on the remote island off the south-east coast of Thailand. With new rules and added twists this time, these castaways must work as a team to survive, while also attempting to outwit, outplay and outlast each other to win the $1 million prize.
In the premiere episode, the 16 survivors are immediately caught off-guard with the introduction of a new twist at the beginning of the competition. When it comes time for the challenge, the survivors must use both their brains and brawn to come out ahead.
And the first person is voted out of the tribe.
...I thought the "brains" part was interesting given the the Ep1 challenge has historically always been a very physical "race" of some sort. Also this would seem to confirm that once again Ep1 will feature just a single challenge (although there's no mention as to whether a reward will be awarded to the winner.)
In any case, I think The Early Show tomorrow morning will have challenge footage, so the above might very quickly be a mute point
