Ken is currently a New York City Police Officer with the 79th Precinct. Previously, he worked as a fitness professional and construction worker. He enjoys motorcycle riding, mountain biking and fitness training. His favorite spectator sport is football. Stafford, who's based at Brooklyn's 79th Precinct in Bedford-Stuyvesant, has been on the force for four years and was one of thousands on duty Sept. 11 when terrorists slammed hijacked planes into the World Trade Center.
"When the other contestants found out Ken was a New York City cop, they gave him a lot of respect," said "Survivor" host Jeff Probst. "He's young on the force and he's got a lot of pride in it." Indeed, on CBS' Web site, Stafford's bio states he's proud of the day that he joined the NYPD and listed Sept. 10, 2001 - the day before the attacks - as his idea of a perfect day. He's single and lives with two bulldogs in Brooklyn. With four seasons of "Survivor" behind him, executive producer Mark Burnett said he devised new challenges for food prizes and immunity from expulsion to keep contestants from scheming in advance about their next activity. "There's not one repeated challenge this season," said Burnett. "I wanted the cast members to be off balance to make sure they can't predict the game."
