LAST EDITED ON 05-13-09 AT 11:51 AM (EST)Singing order recap:
Here is the singing placement through the F3:
Adam:
13. 11/13
11. 5/11
10. 8/10
9. 8/9 near pimp
8. 8/8 pimp
7. 3/7
7. 5/7
5. 5/5 pimp (b2)
4. 1/4 solos & 2/2 pimp duets
3. 3/3 pimp
In the last 7 weeks, Adam has sung last or next to last 5 of 7 times! Complete and total pimpage. The only time he sang first he also got to close the show. Very crafty, AI producers. Yet, with all that pimping Adam fell into the b2 at top 5. Not that the judges really acknowledged that on the talk show circuit--he was the frontrunner according to their pimpage this last week.
Kris:
13. 6/13
11. 3/11
10. 2/10
9. 9/9 pimp
8. 2/8
7. 6/7 near pimp
7. 2/7
5. 1/5 (b3)
4. 3/4 solos and 1/2 duets
3. 2/3
Kris had the worst singing placement of the top 3 singers, mitigated a little by his pimp spot at the top 9. Kris sang in the 1, 2 or 3 slot five of eight times from the top 13 through the top 5. In fact, Kris sang in the top 2 slots 4 of 8 times from the top 13 through the top 8. It was only on the fifth time he was placed to sing one of the top 3 slots, when he opened the show at top 5, that he was in the b3.
Danny:
13. 3/13
11. 8/11
10. 9/10 near pimp
9. 3/9
8. 1/8
7. 5/7
7. 3/7
5. 3/5
4. 4/4 solos but not the pimp spot of the show & 1/2 duets
3. 1/3
Danny opened the show twice in the top 13 and never had the pimp spot. Danny was never even shown to be in the b3. While Danny does not have a strong fan base on these boards, this is still a great feat for an AI performer who did not get much help in the singing placement pimp area. Judges' pimping, back story help, etc., yes. Singing order, no. Danny also sang in the 1, 2, or 3 slot 5 of 8 times from the top 13 through the top 5.
I've thought about how Ryan showed the results last week. Danny, who had never been in the b3 was the one who was left with Allison to hear his fate. Ryan told us the results were in no particular order.
If Danny and Kris had been told first that they made it to the F3, that would have left Adam standing with Allison and would have made for a weak looking Adam after he had been in the b2 the week before. So Adam had to be told before Danny (or Kris, but see below) that he was in the top 3.
If Kris were the one left standing with Allison, it would have implied that Kris was the one at risk and could have fired up his fan base...and that's not what the producers wanted. They have scripted for a Danny-Adam F2 from the beginning. So that meant they had to leave Danny standing with Allison to find out which one was the last to be in the finale...because perception is important to manipulating the outcome.
So, I wonder if, perhaps, Adam was 3 out of 4 last week...and that's what lead to the judges being on the talk show talking up Adam as the winner. It seemed a bit desperate at this point --that, and throwing him the pimp spot, AGAIN.
