Here is an interesting article:
American Idol: Adam Lambert beats Carrie Underwood in searches
April 26, 5:03 PM
American Idol hopeful Adam Lambert is attracting more attention than country music singer Carrie Underwood, according to Google.
About 6.1 million searched for Adam in March, while about 5 million searched for Carrie, according to Google Keyword Tool.
Adam’s die-hard support is centered in country music territory, studies indicate, with Google Trends listing Arkansas, Utah, Alabama, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Missouri, Louisiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee as being the 10 states with the highest per-capita search volume for him.
Adam confused country mentor Randy Travis with his rendition of “Ring of Fire,” a performance denounced by AI judge Simon Cowell.
Adam advanced to Hollywood after pleasing judges with his version of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” during tryouts in San Francisco.
Conventional wisdom had Danny Gokey in the lead for the Idol crown this year, but attention shifted several weeks ago to Adam.
According to Google, Kris Allen is the only other contestant drawing a great deal of search volume, attracting 550,000 searches in March.
Danny, Allison Iraheta and Matt Giraud attracted searches, but the volume of the searches for the remaining three produced “insufficient data,” according to Google."
