I agree-going home in 11th place would be the pits! You'd miss out on the tour, and basically would be forgettable in the future.I mean, who really remembers who came in 11th?? Not me! So, unless you were involved in some horrid scandal, ala David H, and Danny, before tonight's elimination, then you really aren't going to have a huge following. UNLESS, tonight's elimination is a real shocker, like Constantine's and Daughtry's, and Jennifer Hudson's, where someone with AMAZING talent is voted off before his/her time. So, yeah, tonight gets MY vote!

I think not making the top 12 is a hard week. At least the top 12 get the press, the party, the mentions...listed in Wiki (lol). You get to come back and perform on the final night of the season in a group number or two. It makes you part of the "cast".I agree that not making the tour is a tough week, too. Just the $$ made from touring can be helpful to the struggling artists. It gives them more opportunity to build a fan base and to practice singing for large groups of people. Not making the top 3 is a tough one because at top 3 you get the whole hometown day of accolades, naming it ABC contestant day or ABC street, or giving you a "star" in the floor of the mall like Jordin. A PR high for the contestant. But many have made it without making top 3 but not many have made it without making the top 12.
