"What songs would you like to see with which artist?" |
LAST EDITED ON 03-13-08 AT 11:27 AM (EST)Since we've seen what the final twelve did with Beatles.1 what would you like to see with version 2? So far I think I would like to see: Kristi Lee - I've Just Seen a Face David Cook - Daytripper Micheal Johns - Nowhere Man Brooke - Strawberry Fields Forever Syesha - Blackbird Carly - Get Back Jason - I'm so torn, I'd still like him to do Here Comes the Sun but I think he needs to shake it up a bit. Help me out here. I want someone to do Hey Jude and While My Guitar Weeps but not sure who. Ok, take it away. I may change my mind on some and have to think about others. Jason sings to Tummy 2008 etc - four to twelve

First "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" is not available since its a George Harrison song. I, too, would love to see David Cook do it...but not this week.My only pick this week would be Amanda doing "She Came In The Bathroom Window". Ther than that...i don't know. I agree, Jason needs to get off the stool and leave the guitar and pick an uptempo song with the band and show us what he can do on a stage. geekboy "I love puppies!" - S. Cowell

They've been saying Lennon/McCartney song book, not sure if it would count if one of the others wrote it.

While My Guitar Gently Weeps was on the White Album, so it is definitely Beatles. Yes, George Harrison wrote it, but he also wrote "The Way She Moves," which is the song Kat sang last night. So, unless they are only letting the contestants sing Paul/John written songs, it would be available. Personally, I think they should allow any song done by a Beatle, whether with the band at the time or not. That would really open it up to some awesome songs. Don't like the Beatles? Don't know what to say about that. These songs are all good, and I'm too young to have been around when they were. This week was awesome. So another week of Beatles could be the same.My list- David C - Yesterday, non-rocked out, just him and the guitar Michael J- Lady Madonna, rocked out Brooke- While My Guitar Gently Weeps Jason C- The Ballad of John and Yoko, perfect song for him! Ramielle- A Hard Day's Night, needs something uptempo David A- All You Need is Love, already done one Lennon classic, why not another? Chikezie- Baby, You Can Drive My Car, could funk it out Kristy- Hey Jude, needs to go for broke and do something big Syesha- The Long Winding Road, someone needs to do it because it is too great of a song to be left out, and if I had to sing some song before getting booted, this would be it. >

> > Jason needs to get >off the stool and leave >the guitar and pick an >uptempo song with the band >and show us what he >can do on a stage. > Jason could move around on stage singing "With a Little Help From My Friends," but I'd really love to hear him sing "Michelle." David C: "Lucy In the Sky with Diamonds" Brook: "Revolution" Amanda: "Long Tall Sally" Carly: "I Want You" Michael:"The Long and Winding Road" David A.: "You Know My Name (Look Up the Number)" It fits in with the whole idol phone-in-your-vote-at-this-number format, and it'd be a safe bet he'd remember the words. Kristy: "Rocky Racoon" Ramiele "Lullaby" Malubay: "Golden Slumbers" Chakezie: "O, Darlin" Syesha: "Strawberry Fields"

Just change the lyrics a bit and that'll country/redneck it up.In the town where I was born, Lived a man whose house had wheels, And he told us of his life, In the land of trailer parks, So we drove on to the sun, Till we found a lawn of green, And we lived beneath the pines, In our yellow double wide, We all live in a yellow double wide, yellow double wide, yellow double wide, We all live in a yellow double wide, yellow double wide, yellow double wide. And our friends are all inside, Many more of them parked next door, And the band begins to play. (Trumpets play) We all live in a yellow double wide, yellow double wide, yellow double wide, We all live in a yellow double wide, yellow double wide, yellow double wide. (Full speed ahead, Mr. Parker, full speed ahead! Full speed over here, sir! Extra Wide Load! Extra Wide Load! Aye, aye, sir, brake! Heaven! Heaven!) As we live a life of ease Every one of us, has all we need, Sky of blue and lawn of green, in our yellow double wide. We all live in a yellow double wide, yellow double wide, yellow double wide, We all live in a yellow double wide, yellow double wide, yellow double wide. (fading) We all live in a yellow double wide, yellow double wide, yellow double wide, We all live in a yellow double wide, yellow double wide, yellow double wide.

Would love to have Jason do "Maxwell's Silver Hammer". Think that would be a real trip!!I'll have to think about the others....Or maybe "Rocky Racoon" for Jason or David. Either would be really good with that one, too. I'll be baaaack, as Aanold says......You can't just assign Beatle songs without thought, and I haven't thought of any else, since I only realized this morning they were going to do them once more. C-ya'll. OH, I know, Kristy should do, "Baby, You Can Drive My Car", maybe she wouldn't butcher that so bad, and MAYBE, just MAYBE she would take a bit of the country out of it??? YA THINK??

Kristy: Baby, You Can Drive My Car David C: Back In The USSR Micheal: Oh, Darling David A: I Will Brooke: The Long and Winding Road Syesha: Black Bird Carly: Don't Let Me Down Amanda: Get Back Jason: Maxwell's Silver Hammer or Rocky Racoon Chakezie: Here Comes the SunWanted something a little more upbeat for Chakezie, but I think maybe it's time for him to do something totally off his scale, move it around, and floor the judges again. We'll see. I loved what he did last night, but I'd also love to see him do different things and show ALL his colors, as Paula says!!

And, BTW, I do NOT live in a 'trailer park', but if I did, I would NOT be ashamed-unless Kristy sang about it and butchered it up, like she did 'Eight Days A Week'!!! (no fighting words intended)

8. "RE: For the 2nd week in a row:" |
LAST EDITED ON 03-13-08 AT 01:43 PM (EST)Oh geez. Sorry, most of my family when they have lived (and those that still live) in manufactured housing that can be moved after installation when a bunch of them are all together, call them trailer parks. Funny I don't think we are all that red-neck, but none of them feel the need to call it something fancier sounding. I think I'm the only member of my immediate family that was able to get from apartment to stick-built in one step and that's only because my Daddy died at the right time and I blew the money on a house. Which is the politically correct term for a collection of homes that are not "stick-built" these days? Part of using the term "trailer park" in the parody was about playing to the stereotype of someone could countrify up the song "Yellow Submarine". Also since there was one next door some term referring to a collection of like housing seemed appropriate. ETA: Where I live there happens to be a fair amount of affordable housing and trust me, my little stick-built house isn't anything like a half million dollar Mc-Mansion. Heck I'd probably have more square footage if'n I'd blown the money on a double wide, I just didn't want to rent a space and land ain't always that cheap around here, even between towns.

No problemo-you know when we 'mobile home dwellers' have to defend ourselves so adamantly, there is a problem on OUR part!We are getting into that groove that so many others have gotten into, where, as you said, it becomes politically or un-politically correct to say which or what about where we live and/or what we live in! I've tried to grow thicker skin, but have had so many relatives make UGLY comments or say how 'cute' my home is, (it's almost 2000 sq. feet, has a fire place, sky light, 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, and we own the almost 2 acres of land it sits on). And when they call it a 'trailer', that always grates on me. Trailers, to me, are those things that you hook up to your trucks and pull your animals in, or go camping with-LOL. Another BTW, we have heavy cement barracades underneath that, we've been told, only a high level earthquake could cause it to move. So, to my knowledge, it won't be going anywhere soon! But I do see what you mean-I hear it all the time from Jeff Foxworthy, and "My Name Is Earl", etc, and people just don't understand that there really IS an alternative way of life that DOES NOT look like that!! Whew-thanks for letting me get that out! HA! See how touchy we 'double-wide' people can be???? Now, what does THAT have to do with AI and the Beatles, I'll never know.........

Your rendition of the "yellow double wide" is hilarious! Fortunately for my computer, I wasn't drinking when I read through the song...or my keyboard would have suffered the result. ;)
