"Maramuu math and the early merge" |
I've been ruling out the early merge theory because it just isn't possible, but we've never had a Survivor that committed such an awful display of tribicide. But now that we are down to 4 on Moomoo with 2 TCs left before the traditional merge, we can see how mathematically, they might have to merge early. If Moomoo has to go AGAIN this week, (who put these teams together?) then they can vote 2-2, 3-1, or 2-1-1. Someone leaves either by tie breaker or by majority. Regardless, this leaves them with 3 left, and still another tribal council to come before merging. So now, Moomoo, being weaker than ever, has 3 members left. They lose IC and go to TC. They can only vote either 2-1 or 1-1-1. 2-1 means that they go into the merge with only the 2 remaining tribe members. 1-1-1 is a 3 way tie and it can only be broken with a tie breaker of all 3 members competing. This is the only mathematically possible way for a 3 way tie to EVER come about in the game. (When this occurs later in the game, remember that 1 player has immunity and essentially casts the deciding vote.) EPM may have a way to break this tie, but it is probably more fair to send the remaining tribes back together for an early merge. I'm not saying it is likely that they do have an early merge at 11, but I do think it is possible now more than before. Of course, if Peter had voted for Sarah instead of Patricia to begin with then we wouldn't have this problem now, would we?
