"Audition 2 - St.L - Golden Ticket winners"
LAST EDITED ON 01-22-05 AT 12:34 PM (EST)

ETA: I've added pics to this and the 1st one, too.

To discuss the contestants or get to know them better. I've listed the "winners" that were shown and showcased. Episode 2: Attack of the Drones.

Audition 2, St. Louis, MO - aka the Rolling-On-A-River Showcase
Winners: 32
Everyone Sang: Rolling On a River (the Mississippi, perhaps?)
Showcased: 4 winners, 11 losers

Episode: Out of 20,000? auditioners, only 32 were sent thru to the next round. Out of the 32 winners, only 4 were showcased (we saw their full audition), however I counted 11 losers being showcased. No one was willing to be the guest judge for St. Louis, which is sadly typical for them. They showed the Arch a lot, and Ryan got to throw the first pitch for a Cardinal's game. He said that his pitch was as poor as most of the singers. Ouch!

The ones we got to see, who were sent through, are:
1. Ozzie Smith II - 22 st.louis, MO. Son of the great St. Louis baseball player, Ozzie Smith. Sang a Stevie Wonder song. Judges thought he was - great.
*AI4's Celebrity son/John Adams nominee*

2. Angel Higgs - 24 TN. Is the voice teacher for another auditioner, Jeremy, who didn't make it. Angel was distraught at his failure, as she only went because of him. Sang a Chaka Khan song. I liked. Judges thought she was - good, but needs to look younger.
*AI4 Frenchie nominee*

3. Aa-shia Jackson - 16 MO. The chipmunk-singing rapper. After her singing-rap, which was decent, she out-Alvin-ed the chipmunks with the Jackson 5's "I'll be there". Judges thought she had alot of talent and unique voice, but Simon said 100% categorically No, and a judge fight ensued.
*AI4 Lil Romeo/Jasmine Trias nominee*

4. Carrie Underwood - 21 OK. Farm girl who has never flown on a plane or gone anywhere. Country sound, Judges thought she was good.
*AI4 Pretty Girl/Kimberly Caldwell nominee*

Simon's best quotes:
"I don't like music anymore."
"I see you as more of a drag act."

Contestants best quotes:
"Chillin like a Villian" - Ozzie Smith II
"Sing like a Angel, sting like a Bee" - Angel Higgs

AF's Geographical familiarity count: 4

In St. Louis the odds were 625 to 1 against making it to the next round.

I personally liked Osbourne, hated Angel, and thought her student should have gotten in rather than her. Carrie will go far, also.

Of these, it was Chipmunk Girl that irritated me. The others were fine. I didn't think Aisha (I refuse to type her name the way its spelled - its just a pathetic attempt to be "different") deserved a shot and her obnoxious conceited attitude really made me angry. The mother was even worse than her daughter. Confidence is one thing - Conceited is quite another. And she was conceited, not confident. Send her packing in teh first round of Hollywood eliminations.
