Yep. Still love him.Love this song. I will admit - 'cause I'm sure the judges & haters will land on him for it - there were one or two notes out-of-tune... BUT - when the performance is really there, that doesn't matter. It's when tech is all you have, tech is all you will be rated on. Blake has much more than tech. Safe, Simon? It's called programming. He tore it up with his first song, now he sings a ballad - in a perfect world, you then finish huge. We'll see if the 'coronation song' allows him to finish big.

I have watched this year’s Idol from a different perspective: having spent the last year helping one of last year’s Idols with their career after the show. Knowing what I know NOW, and what I’ve seen with these two eyeballs - the fix is in. The coronation song is meant for a miasmic singer. She’s the Fantasia replacement. Good for her. She’s been trying for this for YEARS, and her folks have spent boocoodles of bucks getting her to this point. Heck, Blake’s an insider too, as we’ve seen detailed here and on other sites with his 7 year connection to Maroon 5, etc. Bottom line: they both get contracts. Jordin gets the Ford money, and the appearances after the finale. Blake gets to work on his album & opens for some 311cakecoldplaymaroon5 band after the tour. Who cares who ‘wins’? The prize is given to half the top 10.
And they all get to tour. They need to give the winner a REAL million buck prize - not the fake million that Arista/BMG supposedly will spend on their 3 album deal. At least Taylor got a new couch. For my money - I hope Blake wins. And he gets to stick it to TPTB.
I hope ‘The Taylor Syndrome’ strikes again. Team Plaid looks a LOT like the Soul Patrol right now. Oh yeah - one last thing - Zabasearch.com predicts Blake will win.

At the end of the day, I recognize that I am not the demographic that AI is looking to appeal to. After all, while incredibly good-looking, charming, and possessive of 'buns o' steel', I am well outside the target age group of the usual suspects that AI caters to.That said, for me it boils down to a simple question? Who puts a lump in my pants smile on my face? Who would I rather hear singing around the campfire? This much I know. Dreamy Blake would be totally spontaneous, humourous, and react favorably to his fellow campers. You would never know what was coming next, and all would have a blast. Princess Jordin on the other hand? We would have to start, re-start and then re-start again so that the tempo, lighting, and general ambiance suited her 'perfect' pitch. As a matter of fact, I predict that we would not hear the completion of a single song, as nothing would cast her in the light that she sees herself in. As you all know, this geek is not a Jordin fan...so to see her make the finale was bad enough, and tonight was the topper.Blake got my hopes up initially with the Bon Jovi song which he hit out of the park. Jordin's "Fighter" i thought was pretty bad...so after the first songs, i was quite elated. Then, Blake comes back with that Maroon 5 song. WHY!?!?!? You had to lay it ALL out n the line, and i was hoping he'd crank up the beat boxing, the dancing, etc. It is Blake. A Maroon 5 ballad is NOT what you bring out in the finale. Simon as 100% right. He should have given America all he has and he should've brought the beatboxing again...but he didn't. Then Jordin breaks some wings again...and wows the audience....argh. Then, its time for the Annual CarpFest of a coronation song, and Blake imploded. He was way out of key with the backup singers...and he had zero emotion in that song. Then, Jordin wipes the floor as Simon says. Again, 100% right. America, I give you Jordin Sparks, your 2007 American Idol. geekboy
