with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."

Yep, I know that we don't even know the final 2 but that's what makes it fun. Looks like it is going to be a close vote tonight so that complicates it even more. Regardless, I am going out on a limb to predict the winner...right..now... Jordin Sparks willbe your next American Idol.
You heard it here first. I don't see her getting eliminated tonight and I think that she stands to benefit most from any elimination. If it is Blake, I think she appeals more to the young voter. If it is Melinda, I think she has a small edge as another female performer. I'm on record as backing Melinda and I still want her to win. Heck I voted for her about 100 times last night. However, I think that the remaining contestants and the people who are voting give Jordin a demographic edge. AND I like early predictions. Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, hear the lamentations of their women.

I really believe this competition is incredibly close, and any of those 3 could win. I don't especially care for Blake, but I'm older, and his type of music/beatboxing stuff is not in my taste! At this point, I think all of them could have amazing careers WITH the right coaching, training, leading, direction, etc. If Jennifer Hudson had just stuck with recording, she'd be a has-been at this point. Diana DeGarmo is doing well on Broadway, and look how well Katherine McFee is doing all over the place. It's all in where you go after this, and being SMART about it! I wish the best for all of them-including Lakisha, who needs to learn to take honest direction from people who have been there/done that, or we'll never hear from her again! They all have incredible talent, but it's going to have to be directed and they'll need to surround themselves with people who can be trusted to do that to bring out the best and put them in the best places where they can really solidify what they can do with it to make them more than yesterday's cast-off. PS-I couldn't even bring myself to vote last night-it's all too confusing for me at this point-know what I mean?? I love Jordin and Melinda too much to split the votes on them, and really don't want Blake-I don't know how to explain it! I'm a cop-out, I know, but I just couldn't!!! Bad me! Bad me!!

I have no idea whatsover how this will play out.I feel that Blake is clearly a creative artist, from the inside out. I'm still astonished such an indie-spirited talent is even there. Melinda is maybe the most masterful singer the show has had yet. And then Jordin is a perfect pop idol, for those into that sort of thing. Jordin in theory should have the greater appeal to those who power-vote.
Did you all try to vote last night? I'm in the seattle area, and I could only get through I think 3 votes for Blake total. I tried to throw Melinda a few, and got through once. And I accidentally dialed one of Jordin's numbers and got through second try.
So maybe the power-voters were thwarted by the busy signals? And ... I hate when the tehcnology blocks votes. It's like the Clay-Ruben mess, when it's so close you can't ever know who really was the more popular that night.

I think a lot of people who have not voted all along start to vote in the last two weeks. So, the question is...who do those sideliners vote for--and can they change the gravitational pull towards winner that AI has created for Jordin?

I agree with most of what you say, but really, Jordin is not exactly 'American as apple pie.' A large, mixed-race (beautiful and talented) young girl is not the stereotypical tiny blonde middle-America type. Thank g-d! I don't care which wins, I think Jordin obviously can outsing Blake, but he is always fun to watch.
