Simon's choice for Jordin: “Wishing on a Star” by Rose Royce Paula's choice for Blake: "Roxanne" by The Police Randy's choice for Melinda: “I Believe in You and Me” by Whitney Houston Also, Jordin is quoted as saying she'll reprise “I Who Have Nothing” from the British Invasion night has her choice. geekboy I love puppies! I like both choices for the girls, but I'm not so sure about Roxanne. I'm not that crazy about that song when Sting does it, it's kind of repetitive, so I worry about Blake doing it. Sure doesn't seem like something you can beatbox to, either. Sure does look like they're pulling for an all girl final two.   Top

Also, interesting to note on Final 3 performance nights seasons 1-5 is the performance order: Top 3 Performance Order: Going 1st: Nikki McKibbin, Kimberly Locke, Jasmine Trias, Vonzell Solomon, Elliott Yamin Going 2nd: Justin Guarini, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, Bo Bice, Katharine McPhee Going Last: Kelly Clarkson, Clay Aiken, Diana DeGarmo, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks NOTE: All contestants that sang first were gone the next day… ------------- On singing order: Let's see, Melinda sang first last week so we doubt she will sing first. Jordin got the pimp spot last week, so perhaps she won't sing last but hey, maybe they will be that blatant. So, doubtful that Melinda will sing first. Questionable that Jordin sings last two weeks in a row. Seems like they will have them sing in this order: Blake/Jordin/Melinda so they can help nudge Blake out... unless.... they decided to have Blake in the F2 and then it wouid be Jordin/Melinda/Blake. If Blake sings first, can he overcome the first to sing at F3 gets booted the next night trend? And will any of you buy a cd of ballads sung by Jordin?   Top

Oh I'm not reading anything into that ... last week I was surprised by how clearly Paula "gets" Blake, I really loved what she said to him. It makes total sense that she picked his song. they others would have blown it. and her song choice reflects that, imo. I think Roxanne is perfect for him. if it doesn't work, I think that's just because Blake is too unusual and indie to win. To his credit, and all that. I'd rather see him really express himself and come in third than do something incredibly safe, like the other two are singing. after seeing him on the Fox morning news here in Seattle on Friday, I'm just spilling over with Blake shipperdom! I've been too busy to come in here since then, I have to go look on his thread and see if it's all been posted already. somebody finally asked about his tattoos. boy has depth, yes he does. and then he did an awesome live performance, using his own electronics. great stuff.   Top
