"Any Surprises?"
Are we going to see an America's Choice again this year? Also, will they be bringing in any surprise guest stars? I can't imagine being cooped up all summer with that flaky group and no access to news, music or tv shows. Are they allowed to read novels, do crosswords, use computer games, etc.?

I think they may have been allowed to bring book(s) on previous Big Brothers-- I seem to remember two former housemates using the book to create a code to communicate about evictions. But, they certainly don't seem to spend time reading, etc. these days.

And no, they don't get news-- friggin September 11th happened when BB2 folks were sequestered in the house and CBS was abominable about conveying the tragedy properly. What a pretty little oblivious world they live in.

2. "America's Choice"
During Dana's reign as HOH, I read on the live feed updates that the Diary Room informed Dana as HOH that there would be no America's Choice this year. Dunno how accurate the report is -- saw it only once.

i don't think they'll have america's choice this year, they usually only have that if the house guests are asking for something ("some new weights would be nice", "we want a microwave"), plus the fact that they've already had two luxury competitions and usually they'll have an america's choice by now (i think).

there'll probably be a surprise guest star, but later on or something.

i think they need some more "twists" and stuff, like last year the golden veto was a 'twist', along with bringing someone back into the house, stuff like that. but i think they used up all their surprise twists last year since they had about 200 of them. ¬

LAST EDITED ON 08-02-03 AT 12:18 PM (EST)

Someone said last night (Jun?) that the Bible was the only book in the house. I have never seen computer games; I doubt they would be allowed. BB discourages them from writing stuff because it doesn't want any secret communications, so I think crosswords are out--they'd be perfect to give someone a message.

The hamsters are just supposed to hang & plot.

Edited to add, welcome to BigBrotherBites, jan. Hope you stick around & play with us.

Yes, the only book in the house is the Bible. Nathan states he is a Christian; however, he is not a regular Bible reader. He stated that he is reading the Bible to try to keep his mind sharp as the Bible is the only thing to read and they only have a couple games, such as card, they can play in the house to pass time. Nathan stated he was reading the Bible to help him keep focused and he suggested to Ali she read for the same reason. I got a little something different from the live feed then the show they edited. I think the PTB edited to make the situation more interesting than the fact that Nate stated they should read to keep their minds focused. If I did not have any books or TV and had to stay in a house with the same people day after day, I think I might even begin reading the labels on food, shampoo, etc. just to give my brain something to do. You can only talk to people for so long. Has anyone ever sat on Jury duty? Try for a least a week with no books or tv. I think not!

Welcome BB4red. You are right about things being eddited to make things look different on TV. They can make anyone look almost any way they want to. Most people will not have the live feed and it sounds like it is boring most of the time. Me I can not afford it ( to cheep? ). Just not enought time to see it all.
