Let me state this first before I get accused of anything... Back in season 4, I was absolutely underwhelmed w/ Carrie and was rooting for Bo to win it all. I happily admit this. I did pick up Carrie's CD once it was relesed because my wife wanted it. I listened to it. I was very much impressed and still listen to the CD to this day. She did win me over post-Season 4. I must have missed that. I appreciate anyone who can sing well, and I appreciate anyone who can look good in shorts. If you can do both, why not? If you can't sing as well as others, but want to try to be sexy, I have no problem with that either. It's not like any of the other girls still in the competition are going for the "sexy" vote. And for those who can't sing at all, but want to do "sexy", why not? I prefer bad singing sexy to bad singing ugly any day.   Top

Haley said in a post-booting interview that this was how she'd dressed all along, including Hollywood. It's who she is, not something that she created to get votes. And she showed her midriff in Hollywood, I don't think she did that during the live shows. And the Idol wardobe people encouraged her, told her it was cute and fit the themes. Carrie, two years ago, was a totally different small-town creature. And dressing that like probably would have cost her votes, because it wasn't her niche market. I agree that Carrie has turned out to have more talent and personality than I could ever see during her stint on the show though.   Top

I checked out your link. Carrie's shorts look a bit longer than Haley's. But, it's still trampy. Here's the difference. As an AI contestant, Carrie could sing well enough that she didn't resort to such diversionary gimmicks as shorts, sky high hemlines, super low necklines, or a shaking butt. Haley did. And, to a lesser degree, so did Kat. It doesn't matter who does it. Too much exposed flesh on anyone is always trampy. Never classy. Whether it's Carrie's legs at the CM awards, Haley's legs and boobs during the AI competition, or Kelly's silicone during the AI results show   Top

The people who called Haley a tramp are uptight or jealous. Period. She wore nothing that was inappropriate or lewd. If you have a nice butt, show it and shake it. It is not a sin. And I want to see it. It is called entertainment. And Haley could sing too. You don't make the final 8 on AI without being able to sing. If you don't believe me, go to rehearsals once and give it a shot. She just can't sing as well as this season's best, nor can she sing as well as Carrie or Kat. No sin in that either.   Top
