"Mystery Idol?"
There are a few new vidcaps up at SurvivorFever. They include an image of a previously unseen "Idol" like object:

New Idol from latest preview…

The Tahitipresse has described the Immunity Necklace in one of their articles...

"The "Immunity necklace" (it's said this allowed the contestant who had earned it, to not be eliminated, and so on, until there remained only four contestants), had been, by way of those who cared for it, carefully stowed as a relic. This necklace was made of tusks from wild pigs, of carved Marquesean tikis and of bones from cattle."

We have also seem the Team Immunity idol in other previews:

Team Immunity Idol…

As well as other Idols that are an integral part of the Marquesan culture:

miscellaneous idols…

The question is what is this new mystery idol?

Is it the Immunity necklace described in the article?
Is it decoration from a Torch?
Is it the tree mail ornament from the first Challenge?

What do you think?

Krautboy, this COULD be the necklace--but if so, why is it strung from a center hole, and by a mere string? Something so large, just seems more logical it should be strung from two points, to make sure it lays flat and securely. I spent a half hour at sfever pondering these pix, and I just can't reconcile the description given with what I see. Of course, I don't have pig teeth, tikis, and cow bones on hand to compare, so what do I know? Also, I can't tell if they're saying it was stored as a "relic" after the show was done filming (ensuring its value for eBay?), or if it was stored between uses--in which case, why is it hanging on a stick in the jungle?

Damn this Burn-it. . .

This could be the immunity necklace or as Krautboy stated it could be from the first tree mail.

Lex had that big skull on his torch, maybe someone decided this was cool and hung it on their torch as well. Good thing to look for in the first episode if this "mystery idol" is not the immunity necklace.

Ummm. . . weren't they off in the Pacific whilst Lex and his cronies were airing here? They finished S4 just before Christmas.

I did not phrase that very well.

I did not mean that someone from S4 had seen Lex's torch and copied him. I meant that one of the new survivors had the same mind set as Lex and may have thought, this is a cool way to decorate my torch.
