which is unusual for me. Other than Survivor and some college sports, I don't watch TV. I just don't have enough time or interest. But I have always been intrigued by Cuban, a guy who will say what he feels at any time any place. I can respect that, even it it has me cringing on occasion.
As I watched, I went from being mildly interested during the introductions to being a little annoyed during the 1st cut segment. I get that they knew they were supposed to be playing. But the Cuban reaction scenes seemed very amateurish.
Granted, Cuban is no actor, and I don't need him to be a Jeff Probe-like talking head. But he seemed to bounce in and out of focus, both physically and emotionally. I stopped watching after the Ex-Marine florist was capped.
After I thought about it for a while, I decided that the show felt a lot like one of The Assistant episodes I surfed past during a football game commercial a while back.
If you haven't seen the Assistant, Andy ##### is all over the radar. One minute he's convincingly serious and the next he's comedian Andy. But I never know how to take him, and thus a good premise is wasted.
I can't say from a third of the initial episode that the same is happening on the BF. But that is my impression.
I'd like to be worng, b/c I am generally pro-Cuban. Though I'd rather watch paint dry than watch the NBA, I do pay attention to the Mavs. So I hope Cuban gets better reviews than my gut reaction.
