Am I the only one who thinks those Ford commercials are totally lame and pointless? The only positive thing I could take from last nights commercial was how Katharine looked in her little dress. These commercials do not make me want to purchase a Ford vehicle.

Those commercials are lame and embarassing. It's hard to imagine any of them enjoying making those commercials and seeing themselves up there acting like complete azzes. Even more embarassing, though, was that HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE song they had to sing together in the opening of the elimination episode last week (can't remember the name of it - "We Are One"?). Sure, it's OK for someone like Katharine, who can do the singsong stuff, thing, but it must be torture for Chris. Kudos to him for not tossing his cookies. The choreography (marching around), and harmonies (their voices are not compatible) really sucked, but the song itself wouldn't do anyone justice, 'cause it's just plain bad. I'm embarassed just thinking about it.

I'm embarassed just thinking about it.I agree with you there! That had to be the cheesiest, most cornball, craptacular song ever. I didn't think their performance was particularly bad, just the song - and I felt sure that they each must be cringing inside as they did it. Really, I wondered how any of them could do it with a straight face. The commercials, on the other hand, I think they have a lot of fun with. Are they good commercials? Not necessarily, and I don't care. I'm not buying the car anyway. Although sometimes corny as well, it just seems like they're having a good time in the process, and get a kick out of seeing the finished production on results night. So while they may be "lame", I don't mind them at all. dk

The Ford Commercials, I think, are the highlight of the results show. Especially since we see a commercial every thirty seconds! The Idols seem to really enjoy watching them also. They're always laughing and clapping as they end. I think they get a kick out of them!

I am not sure that they enjoy them as much as you think. It will be interesting to see the commercials as less and less contestants are involved.
