Lex calls it a ball buster (shades of the Festers!) They have a severe case of culture shock... can't figure out how to get goats off bus/truck... towns people laughing at them... Production crew gives them no direction... so they walk around asking people if they'll buy a goat... The locals buy them for 1600 shillings ($25)... the guys who buy the goats go straight to the butcher shop!  A friendly local takes them to a restraunt... the place has three items on the menu... maize, meat, and french fries... Ethan got a soda... Lex got a beer... they both got greasy chippy fries... Ethan 'made the village smell like ass' They spent 1000 shillings on the meal and had 600 left! Good shopping dudes ... they go to trade the clothes for stuff for the tribe... Ethan plays hacky sack (his luxury item) with a big bunch of kids... and gave it to them as he left! The kids were beaming! IceCat gives Ethan the official 'Nice Guy Stamp of Approval'! Edited to correctly indicate Ethan's beverage choice.

The final guys have to run out and get as many of the items as possible in a certain amount of time... Ethan wins immunity with 8 items... Tom and Brandon each get 6.

Again, let me say Holy Crikey.The preview makes everything sound a bit fun after this vote. We're all taken aback, I am SURE that Kelly was implicated in the witchhunt. It's amazing that they were able to mark Kelly in all that. Anyway -- pre-captures, this is what I gathered from the preview. 1) Lex is scared as hell that he was honest with Kelly; confesses as much to Kim J and Ethan. 2) "Tom's body rebels..."
"Ohmigod, it's like he's growing a third eye" ~ Ethan 3) "And all of a sudden alliances are shattered..."
Kim P makes a shooting gun motion at Brandon, tells Teresa she was betrayed by him. Tom : "All of a sudden, Lex seems like he's shifting sides."

Ethan, and KimJ SHOULD NOT DESERVE to win this game... what a bunch of fools, they go from completely controlling the game to taking a chance of swapping Kelly for BRANDON -- 1) what could have possibly made then trust BRandon and 2) why would BRANDON possibly trust them.The only thing I can POSSIBLY envision Brandon was thinking was that he can dump Kelly now and switch back to Samburu NEXT VOTE and oust Lex on a 4-4 previous vote tiebreaker. That would then setup a "deadmatch" Final Four of KimP and Brandon versus Frank/Teresa (although could KimP realy be expected to trust Brandon after this?) ...either way it was an EXTRMELY dumb and foolish move -- he could have accomplished the same goal by ousting Kelly now and then getting Kelly to join he and KimP in the Final three) which should have been easy, given Kelly's close relationship with KimP.) Damn, now that Kelly is gone I'm realizing how much this show is going to suck without her. -SB

well, i missed the episode, but i have to disagree with you allBrandon seems to have made an incredibly SMART move. he had to get rid of one of the Boran if he wanted to stay in the game. how could he know for sure he could trust Kelly? He knew Lex was mad at Kelly, and more honest (to a fault), so probably felt pretty sure he would be honest with him (plus Brandon probably still was miffed at her for overhearing him) It didn't matter if Kelly or Lex went. Now Samburu is tied with Boran at 4-4, and Lex OR Tom will be gone in a tie-breaker should Brandon switch back to Samburu. Frank is the only one on Samburu with a vote, and only one at that. If they kicked Lex out, and Tom won immunity, Frank wouldlose a tie-break vote (if they knew about the vote,and even if they didn't, Brandon would have to fear losing a tie-breaker if Boran made him their target)
Samburu has just taken control of the game, if Brandon can get them to trust him again, and he will almost assuredly move out of the cellar on my list for the first time since Lindsey was still here
However, Lex did make a very stupid move with Kelly if Brandon goes back to Samboohoo aside: heh, where's all the talk about homophobic Tom and Lex now? you people can be ridiculous sometimes. (and even if they don't approve of his lifestyle, it doesn't make them homophobic)

I am really looking forward to what sleeeve finds on the Survivor Insider clips around the pre-vote discussions...How is it possible that Lex could wield that much control over the others so that they would dump two Borans (Clarence and Kelly) in a row! After the five to four vote everyone knows who voted for whom! There won't be any need to 'smoke out snakes' next week! Lex has utterly destroyed his credibility with his alliance members. His 'leadership' has taken them from a position of total dominance to the brink of catastrophe! Brandon has no reason to remain loyal to Borans. With Boran, he is in spot 5. With Samburu, he is in spot 4. If Brandon switches back, the Boran will be pagonged starting in week 9. The Boran have entirely exposed their throats to the Samburu wolves. The Survivor Inside clips have to make some sense! I neeeeed them to make sense! I can't see how Brandon will stay with the Borans next week... but I am assuming Brandon actually posesses half a frikkin' clue!

Kelly - 5 fatal votes against; voted Kimp/T-bird/Frank against L Well, now, with the preview and the fact that Lex was stupid enough to cannibalize his own before her time, I definitely say the game has changed. Everything's new now, and here are some observations: 1) Kid Alliance - Kimp and Brandon are on the rocks. Watch for Kimp to lash out at Brandon.
2) Lex = Dumb - his "honest father" routine was stupid with Clarence, even stupider with Kelly. His loyalties are called into question within his own voting sub-set.
3) Frank is saved? - in all of this, he's merely played a "Uhm, what??" role, and thus has completely fallen under the radar with KimJ; how boring would this game be if the two of them made it all the way? Voting possibilities: Ep9 Tribal Council:
4 votes Lex; 4 votes Teresa
-> Lex goes down with prior votes along new alliance lines
5 votes Lex; 3 votes Teresa
-> Lex goes down when Brandon gets guilted back into Samboohoo
7 votes Lex; 1 vote Brandon
-> Lex becomes universally hounded for pulling fire to Boran

I'm looking to her to be the one that sets things in motion in order to cover her own butt, and I think that her vote for Lex will be the first thing in that vein. It doesn't seem she'd ever vote for her precious Ethan, but she probably doesn't have many long-term qualms about voting for Tom or Lex; she'd rather vote for them than for Ethan, T-bird or Frank. Check all of the last episode - T-bird's playing with MamaKim's paint set. I think there's a connection there that, if MamaKim has her way, will pull her into the final four.

We don't know Lex's motivation, but right now he appears to be the biggest fool ever to have played Survivor. Right now Lex would lose any tiebreaker, and so ONE defection turns him into burnt toast.OK, now I know why we've been having so much trouble getting the boot pick right: you can't predict this game based on logic when you're dealing with people who want to lose. Remember Clarence's comment about Mama Kim being willing to do anything to keep herself in the game? Well, this week she turned on Kelly. Next week ... bye bye Lex. Would anyone have believed prior to tonight that an original Samburu would win this thing? Way to go, Lex and Boran -- thanks for restoring drama to the game by blowing a certain victory. OH, and we can put to bed the theory that the TV Guide writers know anything. In her E9 preview, Alicia says: "If she's smart, Kelly will try to turn Tom and Ethan against Lex." Too late!

Shades of RoseRed but I think that Brandon still has a fighting chance for the final two. I think that even given the next week vidcap of Kimp JFK-ing Brandon, there's still something there.Remember how that particular friendship was stressed so much at the very beginning, and we've only gotten tiny tidbits since (ie Kimp polishing her nails, and telling Lindsay 'I'd never do that to you'). I absolutely love Clarence's spoiler quote about MamaKim "doing anything" to win. Screw disgruntled housewives, this 50-year-old woman knows what she wants, and knows how to get near it. I say "get near it," because the woman is *COMPLETELY INEPT* physically. She was saved by MB, and will prove to be a key dramatic player in the next two, three episodes. Hell... maybe she'll even win something for once, instead of losing everything so freaking miserably.

Now it make perfect sense why Lex didn't keep in touch with other Survivors after the game ended. This was mentioned in another thread! People speculated that it's because he has a busy real-life. But I think it's more likely that 'his betrayal' of another member of Old Boran tribe at this juncture of the game make him want to forget the game. His paranoid witchhunt just sealed the fate for all his Old Boran as jury members (barring some miracles or immunity runs, of course).

With Kelly gone from Boran now, Samboru is firmly in controll of the game. The only thing that I can't understand, is why Kelly's boot wasn't a unanimous decision. Brandon did not betray Samburu at all for voting for Kelly. Boran betrayed Kelly. When Brandon said tonight that this vote would get him to the final four, the first thought that I had was Wow, what an idiot. Being fith in a five person alignment gurantees you fith, not fourth. but now I realize that Brandon was just voting a Boran off when he had the opportunity, and now he is free to vote for Lex or Tom and ride into the final four. (Tom would be the better choice in my oppinion next week because wouldn't you like Lex sitting next to you in the final 2 in case of an immunity run.) I do believe that with this decision, no matter what happens Brandon can not win the game though. There will just be too many people burned by him to ever give him the money.

Otherwise they'd turn on him as soon as they get up 4-2 (at that point Brandon is not needed... and too dangerous to keep around, he could defect again at any moment.) I'm still upset to see Kelly gone... one of the smartest/funniest players in the game, and also cute... overall one of the most "well rounded" Survivor players ever (although I'll confuse I noticed the same thing as Ice -- LittleKim's buff was pretty damn short there! ) Anyways, for what it is worth, none of Spoiling Safari's almost 3000 players picked KELLY. -SB

The way I see it - she could be considered somewhat of a loose cannon at this point in the game insofar as she does not appear to have any solid alliance. If I had the upper hand, I would want to get rid of any loose cannons that could threaten me. She also received a lot of face time in the re-cap episode.

I'm amazed that Ethan and Tom didn't talk him out of it, because he just slit his own throat. And, like Webby, I'd love to have Lex come over to play poker sometime -- I'd be able to buy a new house!

I pretty much farted off the guessing game this week, but this was still a big surprise.  First of all, how the hell did Lex come up with KELLY as his "rat" without even considering Teresa? They all sat there and watched Teresa and Clarence bartering with each other for the last IC, so that should've been a starting place, in my mind. . . And trusting BRANDI? Gawd. Well, hopefully this will mean he's on everyone's sh¡tlist and will be out soon. From the previews for next week, it doesn't look good for ChapstickBoy. . . Li'l Kim was plenty pissed at him (and Lex was "regretful.") Now Lex has a whole lot more paranoia to feed on, and the Sambooboos may have a whole new life. . . But it's now 4 and 4, right? What if the old Moron Cabal targets Brandi as their next victim--getting rid of the one who obviously is willing to play traitor as it suits him, and also ensures a Moron edge? As I recall, they thought that he had votes when they were temporarily on that tribe. . . unless Frank/Teresa clued them in after the merge, that could mean a tie and LEX would be the next one to go bye-bye. . . And Ice? You must be feeling much better, to let your attention wander thataway. . . Oh yes, I noticed you ogling that dumb girl, mister!

We're missing something. Brandon is NOT stupid. He believes that he will be in the final 4 with Boran, so someone (Lex? Ethan?) did a good job of convincing him that one of the other alliance members is just being strung along (Tom? Mama?). Look at his alternative. Brandon has said that he is sick of Kim P whining, plus she has proven to be dumb as a rock. He cannot and will not trust Frank, and didn't know if he could trust Kelly. T is paranoid (remember her "you're lying to me - I don't like that" line at the last IC). Brandon did not have faith in the staying power of old samburu, so he took a chance on a sure thing. I still like Lex!! Anybody with me? It's the tattoos, the hair, the buggy eyes. Ethan would still be wandering around with his goats without him. (By the way, Duh Ethan... didn't you even for one minute consider that you might get to bring someone with you?). And since he's now not too popular, wouldn't he be a good choice to go to the final 2 with? S2D

NOB, I totally agree with you, that the subtleties are important. However, typically what is thrust straight into our faces is not usually what happens. In this particular case, Kim P is saying quite obviously that she feel betrayed, and obviously by Brandon. That being the case, I can not believe that MB is not trying to get us to think that she will turn on him. And if he wants us to think that straight out, I doubt it happens.Of course, I also thought Teresa was gone this week, so I obviously have no clue here. Pinky and the Brain is the only one who seems to be able to understand this thing right now. Who saw Kelly being the boot? There was no evidence whatsoever to go with that.

I am all there with you, Sleeve. Kelly got a lot of bashing on this board, and I could never quite figure it. She is smart and quick. Everyone in this game except possibly Teresa is two-faced. It just that Kelly got the pointed questions. She also was obviously liked by Burnett. Case, what his name (Jiffy) asked Kelly repeatedly if she was doing ok in the reward challenge. Kim, Mamma Kim, Teresa, and Tom did just a bad and were ignored. There was genuine interest when he asked this. His face said he liked her. There was also genuine regret when she left. The board has repeatedly made a case that ?Jiffy? is highly infuenced by the main man. Feel free to disagree as most of this is subjective.
Who is left?
Ethan- eye candy. Reward challenge showed he has brains. IC
showed he had no guts
Mamma Kim- boring, weak, enough said.
Tom- smart (personal opinion), funny, well-liked. Not quite a
follower. I personally think he was the most retiscent.
He went along because he was loyal. Not sure of where
he is going.
Lex- dumb, dumb, and dumber. Now we know why no one talks to
him post-show
Teresa- sweet, honest but smart. Leadership skills.
Frank- loner. loyal to Teresa.
Kim- easy on the eyes. low profile. contrary to board opinion,
I say this kid has brains. Kelly is not easily fooled. If
Samburo knew of Brandon's plan, she fooled a behavioral
analysis. Big if, I know.
Brandon- STUPID
Here's why-
A boran would have been voted off without him turning- Lex.
Tom would have had four votes. That leaves MammaKim and Ethan.
So we have- MammaKim, Ethan, Tom
Teresa, Frank, Brandon,Kim
Kelly- doubtful that she would have gone back to the
old tribe.
Next three T.C.'s vote off, Tom(even if Kelly returned he has votes). Ethan unless he wins Immunity. Mammakim.
At some point, Ethan will win immunity, if at the second he does, vote mammakim. If at the third, he does vote Frank.
This leaves Teresa, Ethan, Kelly, Kim, Brandon. Vote off Teresa and either Ethan or Kelly. He is in the final three. Now I know there is a possibility that Teresa and Frank cannot be trusted. But I am going on what Brandon did this T.C. Now, he in a situation that he has to win Samboru back over or go as number five( mammakim,ethan, lex,tom). Why because without him,Samboru has no voting power. Why I think they were suprised- little kims face at TC on Kelly's last vote. Could be editing and next preview shows Kim pointing the gun at Boran, but there was something personal about it. And remember someone is devestated. No his most sure bet would have been to vote Lex. Long personal opinion. Hope you didn't give up on reading it.

Should have been more clear, Skyraider. What I meant was honest at heart, but wise enough to see when she needed to keep silent. Notice, it could be editing, but she seemed to just avoid telling Lex. Also, she tried to bring Kelly along. Brandon brought Kelly down. You think she should have cut her own throat.

Old Boran managed to go into the merge with numerical superiority and have now managed to whittle themselves down to numerical parity with Old Samburu but at a disadvantage where two of their number could be ousted in a tie. The only thing that could possibly be more stupid at this point would be if Old Samburu fail next week to unite and take control of the game by Pagonging Boran till they reach the final four, and the way things are going they are probably too stupid to do that. I have to hand it to Brandon, he was placed in a win-win situation of getting to decide which Old Boran to oust, and I think he was smart to take out the fifth wheel that Old Samburu didn't need at that point, but he was stupid to not alert his Old Samburu team to what he had decided. There, I had to get that off my chest. And to anyone out there who may have tried out for S3 and not been selected, I congratulate you on not being stupid enough for MB to pick you. If he can convince Old Sambooby that he was really on their side all along, and the idiots believe him (they seem to believe stupid stuff quite readily) then he may be okay. I keep remembering the IC where he fumbled a flaming arrow onto his own foot. I don't hold out a lot of hope that he can spin his screw-up into gold. Nobody will trust him ever again. Lex is an idiot too! And I thought he was smart! I can't believe the Borans followed him off the edge of the cliff like a bunch of arctic lemmings. Boran had it made in the shade, they were ready to cruise, but then Lex had to go on his big ego witch hunt. Zheesh! Teresa is immortal. She will never be voted off, no matter how often it is logical for her to go. She goes to final 2 & wins because everyone still likes & trusts her. Wouldn't that be a hoot? Swami

Brandon's vote only seems to make sense if he was unsure of where Kelly was really going. If he knew with 100% certainty that Kelly was voting with Samburu he might have reconsidered. Remember that Kelly outsmarted them once when they pulled one over on getting Lindsey.

Honestly, I agree with you. Teresa's not a bad person, and I happen to like her "character," but should she win? It's going to be a loss of illusion, and the game will have become completely formulaic (not like it isn't already). She wins, and we have another Tina on our hands.If MB is at all influencing the game, he'll realize it's not going to be good for S4 ratings if Tin... I mean, Teresa wins. I think the best thing for ratings is to maneuver it so that Kimp pulls away with the money.... Hey.. If Brandon has half of a brain, he'll know she's the one to push forward. I think he realizes that he's not got much of a chance against anyone in the jury, but that rather, second place ain't so bad.
