LAST EDITED ON 05-31-04 AT 02:05 PM (EST) Very rarely you hear Paula say something bad.Then when you do she only says " This is not your best night" or " It was ok you can do better.She needs to be like simon.She needs to tell the truth Jasmine did not sing good last night.Then Paula Says " You can do better.She needs to get over the fact that.They are teenagers.They are not kids.She needs to treat them like they are teenagers.That is what I would do.Would you be truthful? Paula said she doesn't say the things to the contestants that Simon and Randy say because she was once where they are now and she doesn't want to hurt them like she was hurt.Personally, I feel that all she is doing is hurting them because in the real world,if they were to audition for someone, they won't have people beating around the bush, they are going to tell them like it is.   Top

Once Randy gets past the canine and gang bang banter, he offers straight up thoughts; Simon often says things to inflame and his honesty is not expressed in a kind manner. Simon is the honest, yet somewhat brutal judge, Randy is the in between judge, and Paula is the nice judge. They went on to say, that on the first season, Paula frequently got up and walked out because of Simons comments to the contestents. She ended up hiring a writer, so she could have come backs to Simon.   Top

Randy is honest and doesn't mind giving a contestant the truth, but does it a little more "softly".
