I agree. He has the whole package and even Simon was eating him up. He also has the two-initials-first-name that the judges appear to be drawn to. Plus, he's related to two early Presidents...can't get any more American an Idol than that! Definitely think he will be in final four, and maybe even win (what do you bet a guy wins this time, by pure "coincidence"?).

He is definitely in the final ten, fer sure.Simon loooooooves this guy. Clean cut, attractive, white guy that can sing. That is Simon's definition of an American Idol. Btw, I did like this guy, he has potential, but I reeeeeeally liked the overweight, African-American woman with blonde hair (her friends and co-workers took up a collection to send her to the audition). She has a phenomenal voice and a really bubbly personality. Love her, hopes she does well. The blonde chick that sang "Superstition" and the guy that sang "What's going on" all stand out in my mind. It's gonna be a fun season. I'm ready (c) 2002, 03 GeorgiaBelle Creations, Inc. All rights reserved

Tell that sister of yours that I miss her I'm right here, sweetie, and I miss you too! I just love American Idol! I can't believe that I let American Idol 1 slide right by last season. I never watched it and I kick myself for missing out on the fun! Simon was awesome, I don't understand what all the fuss was about with everybody thinking he was such a turd. My favorite part is all the funny faces that Simon, Paula, and Randy make when a truly bad singer oens thier mouths! Oh, and the fact that while I'm laughing my arse off, my DH is quickly running out of the room shouting, "turn it off, he/she SUCKS!" I can't remember where she had her audition, as she's moved away from my town, but there is a girl that made the finals that graduated from Connersville, Indiana. It was a pretty big piece in the paper here about a few months ago. *rubbing hands together..."I can't wait till Tuesday!"*

We need to get Draco back here, he is an integral part of dissing the contestants on this show. >Simon was awesome, I don't >understand what all the fuss >was about with everybody thinking >he was such a turd. I love Simon, his best venom is ALWAYS reserved for Paula. I love it. Just fyi Asrai, last season Paula hired a comedy writer to counter attack Simon. It did NOT work, Simon just gave her so much more grief. I think she is being tougher on the kids, this time around.

>We need to get Draco back >here, he is an integral >part of dissing the contestants >on this show. >I'm here, don't worry, just surveying the landscape before I really begin ripping people. I will start though by saying that I'm already sick of Kelly Osbourne wanna-bes and overly-effeminate little boys. This is gonna be a long season if that's what we're working with. >>Simon was awesome, I don't >>understand what all the fuss >>was about with everybody thinking >>he was such a turd. > >I love Simon, his best venom >is ALWAYS reserved for Paula. >I love it. Just fyi >Asrai, last season Paula hired >a comedy writer to counter >attack Simon. It did NOT >work, Simon just gave her >so much more grief. I >think she is being tougher >on the kids, this time >around. Actually, Simon's worst venom was always reserved for the Ex-Co-Host-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named. Funny how out of their way they went to avoid showing him in the "Where are they now?" special. I'll say this, at least Ryan seems to take it all in stride when he gets ripped. I'd still like to see him find a way to get Simon on "Ultimate Revenge" though. Speaking of "Where are they now?" where were Poor Little Jimmy, the pity vote, and Ejay, the luckiest contestant in AI's first season? They pretty much vanished other than a couple of quick shots. As far as Paula goes, I wish they'd found a replacement for her. Or hell, just leave her out entirely. The Atlanta auditions were a lot easier to listen to without her syrupiness, and Randy and Simon did a good enough job of playing "Good cop/bad cop" without her. Kudos to Nashville's freak who stole her drink. One more thing and I'll leave the bad auditions alone. Was it just me or did the fat kid who sang "Like A Virgin" sound like Eric Cartman? I kept expecting him to break into "Come Sail Away." The Chamber of Secrets Has Been Opened. Enemies of the Heir... Beware!

**WAVES in a totally geeky way at Draco**So nice to see you, looking forward to you AI thoughts. Oh and the " Like a Virgin" guy was the worst! I don't know why they asked him to sing again. ( but it was funny he sang in that awful falsetto girly screech again) What was up with that freak that took Paula's drink and wore a bathrobe to the audition?? As soon as he walked out, my Hubby started cracking up. The bad ones are such a fun part of this show.

I was cheering for her as soon as I saw the hometownSame with the guy from Raleigh. When he first walked out, I thought, "What a geek." But then he sang really well. Certainly a case of substance over style. I thought it was really funny that the judges said the same thing I was thinking - that voice coming out of that body...unbelievable. This looks like an interesting crop of singers for AI2. I'm reserving my predictions for after tonight when I get a chance to see the final 32. I know there's probaby a few we haven't seen yet that will shine. If you don't have time to do it right the first time, when are you going to find time to do it again? - Anonymous

Bebo and Packman,Yes it was cool to have Raleighites on the show, and to have made it to Hollywood, but... The guy sang OK, not the best, IMO. Better than most others who auditioned, for sure, but will he make the next cut? I doubt it. And the write your own song girl was so so. We at least know she has "issues" stemming from a bad relationship, and hardship does drive a lot of perfomers and songwriters, but I just don't think she was that talented. Hopefully she will be much better in Hollywood. Once she gets some instruction and gets comforatable with the whole AI experience, I hope she wows us. It is astonishing how foolish humans can be in groups, especially when they follow their leaders without question - States: The Bene Gesserit View. All States Are an Abstraction.

We got 2 out of 234, so I'm not complaining. I don't think either of them was the best singer I've heard, but they didn't embarrass us. While I was in Massachusetts, they were showing interview with their famous representative...Edgar. (The Iglesias guy from the first episode.)I knew the guy was going to make it to Hollywood, because the North Raleigh edition of the N&O had spilled that tidbit before the show aired. It did say he would be in the 4th episode, which would be tonight...so we must get to see some of his singing. He goes to one of the Bible colleges, and I think he majors in music. As for the girl, her songwriting is a lot better than her voice. But her attitude is the best part of her - woo! I'm just glad Raleigh residents weren't embarrassed on the show. They showed a guy at the Nashville auditions say he was from Durham, but we didn't get to hear him sing. Royalty, shmoyalty...EVIL rules!

21. "YAY, the whole gang's back !!!!!" |
Draco, PackMan, Buggy, ejm and Ms. Bebo, all regulars from last season. Glad you are all watching again, it should be more fun this season. I have a few comments from last night. As soon as I saw that kid with the see through shirt, I said, Simon's going to rip him and insult Ryan. AND HE DID !!!!! Although the kid had a phenomenal voice on him. I loooooved the song that "Maria" (I think that was her name) sang. I think it went something like "kiss my ass" or something to that effect. Gutsy of her to sing that. I thought the Britney/Christina wannabe that sang in Atlanta was great too. Sorry, I forget her name. And, the "Like a Virgin" boy was hilarious. One final thought. Randy and Simon did VERY well together, without Paula, BUT, it's still fun to see her argue and fight with Simon though. Great to see all you peeps back for this season of A.I.
