LAST EDITED ON 04-14-09 AT 05:52 PM (EST)Actually, I loved last week's episode. And I was enraptured by tonight's episode until the "Tony twist." Now I know why production was shut down after this episode for script patches; they had to go back and make sure there weren't any blatant inconsistencies in the earlier episodes re Tony, as well as make sure that this all ended up as a pre-planned scheme of Tony's.
That means that everything involving Bill and Chloe was a setup by Tony as well. So why did Tony steal the bioweapon? And for whom? And why was he so interested in Kim seeing Jack (yeah, I noticed that too)?
But look at the pile of implausibilities here. Tony had to be captured by Starkwood so he could be part of the FBI raid so he could be left behind, but he was only left behind because of the call by Jack to Doug -- how could that have been anticipated? For that matter, how could Tony have known any of what happened, including Jack's involvement? Without Jack being hooked into the FBI through Renee, all of the "rump CTU" activities look pretty stupid. Oh well, time to just go with the flow and see how this works out.
*MINI SPOILER* Tony is apparently involved with the blonde lawyer that we saw in the previews talking to Jonah. And Carlos Bernard says that the plan was always for Tony to be duplicitous and evil.
