PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate
attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't
be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats,
but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other
posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out
how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are
encouraged to read the
complete guidelines.
As entertainment critic Roger
Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."

The only one I see on the show that actually should be there is Jessica. That girl truly NEEDS and WANTS help! and nobody can argue that! That's a fact!

I disagree. I think several of them truly want help. How much effort they are willing to put into it is another matter.

This is the first season of Starting Over that I have been able to watch from the beginning. I only discovered the show during the summer and saw various different reruns. Anyway, from what I have seen, over and over the houseguests will discover that what they thought was their problem, wasn't really their main problem. Over and over, you hear them say, "I thought my goal was this . . . but it turned out that my goal was really this." I think they come in willing to do the work, but they have expectations of what that work is going to be; followed by expectations about what they are supposed to learn from an assignment when it is introduced. When the reality varies from their expectations, they resist and they look like they don't want to do the work. Of course not, it's not the work they thought they were going to be doing. It's called "trusting the process." Until they trust the process and clean the car, smash the bricks, carry the baggage or whatever the life coach tells them to do - nobody is going to get any sort of healed.

Keep watching. They all have resistance, and most of them break through. That's the common thread through every season.
