Superman 3157 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Car Show Celebrity" 11-06-01, 08:42 PM (EST) "SurvivorBlows Tribe, It's Time to Vote.................." Well, technically it's time to vote, but I don't know that an actual bootee has been discussed on the board as of yet. What with all the "twisting" going on. Here's a new theory: Maybe the "Twist" is just talking about Lindsey's kewl braids! So maybe it's not time to vote... hmmmmmmm... ah, hell, let's do it anyway. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere's the rules: 1. REPLY TO THIS POST ONLY! This rule, to date, has been the most frequently broken. So lemme give you a quick lesson. Look down to the bottom of THIS post. This post, written by Superman. Look in the corner of it. Click on the reply button on THIS post. I know there are other posts below this one. It doesn't matter about that. Click reply on this one. Everything will remain a straight line, Superman will be happy and Jesus will start loving you again. 2. This is not a discussion thread. Do not treat it as such! Not been a problem thus far. Sure, express your reasons for voting in your post. But, that's all you've got, discussion wise. I don't care if someone talks bad about your mother in their post. You'd better not respond here. 3. Put the name of your choice for this weeks Bootee in the Subject Heading! Again, not been a big problem so far. Just erase the "Re:SurvivorBlows Tribe, It's Time to Vote......." line and type whoever you feel will get the boot. 4. Everyone must thank DangerKitty for her wonderful Summary of Ep.4! Since Mama Kim being next was beat into the ground last ep, she's staying. Teresa would be the next logical Sambura to go. Chipster and friends have a better shot at making an alliance with her but they desperately need Frank's strength so no dice. This also fits into the surrounded by beautiful women statement of Carl and Teresa being one of Linda's friends. Without the twist, Chubby Checker would not be famous and this episode would have been easier to spoil. P.S. I am happy to give DK many, many more kudos, plaudits and hosannas in gratitude for the wonderful summary.   Top

"Theresa" LAST EDITED ON 11-07-01 AT 00:03 AM (EST) MB will likely juggle it so that the tribes merge 5-5. There are really just 3 likely candidates. MammaKim, Theresa & Frank. MammaKim - Boran has voted the weakest players out so far, and would do so again in episode 5 to reduce the chance that they would have to return to TC in episode 6. For Boran Mamma Kim's the smart vote. Frank - The mallrats don't like him, and voting smart has not been one of the mallrats strong points. Theresa - She's not part of the mallrat alliance, and lacks the strength the challenges have demanded so far. ------------------------------------------------------------- It won't be MammaKim because she hasn't gotten the MammaKim nickname, and won't until the players have to distinguish her from Lil bit. It won't be Frank because MB has developed the "going behind enemy lines" to much to not give us a pay off. Too, this will be Sambura's 3rd TC in a row. Vote out Frank, and they will likely be back in episode 6 for 4 TC's in a row. The mallrats would be afraid of entering the merge down 4-6, so they keep Frank. Theresa's the odd man out. This fills in Diane's email friends list, and adds to Carl's surrounded by beautiful women comment. DangerKitty rocks!! edit to reflect DangerKitty's rockability status.   Top

"Silas" As previously noted...due to lack of info, this is a SWAG (scientific wild ass guess). In a tribal shuffle, which is the scenario I support, someone is almost certain to know about Silas's privous votes and his non-team-player treacherous nature, regardless of which tribe Silas is in. In times of near merge, or the chaos a tribal shuffle will create, it is time to get rid of dangerous players. You can always boot off weaker players as needed later on. Silas is dangerous, has prior votes, and is a threat to both tribes. In comparison, Lindsey also has prior votes, but is annoying and weak and not much of a threat to anyone...except herself!   Top

Also, in another thread someone mentioned a weekly newsletter from CBS that prominantly featured Kelly this week (as it did Linda last week before she was booted). I think in addition to the face time she's been getting on Survivor Insider, I think whatever the twist is, it will end up with Kelly getting booted this week. We really have no other evidence to help determine who might be the boot. In either scenario, both Lindsey and Silas would become quite vulnerable (with their prior votes). Thus, as between the two, I think Lindsey is generally seen as weaker and more annoying (although obviously the OFA really had it out for Silas last time and found him more annoying). As I have to chose one, I pick Lindsey with Silas as my back-up (as if back-ups really meant anything). Edited to add: I am so sorry DK for forgetting to thank you intially. Thank you, thank you, thank you (I hope 3 thank yous in an edited post can count as 1 thank you in an original post).   Top

That puts Theresa and MamaKim on the firing line. If the tribes stay roughly the same, the Samboufou Kids would be smart to get rid of Frank now, but, since they have collectively shown the smarts of a lobotomized turnip, I ain't bettin on it. "Silas" I was one of the first to claim that dismissing Silas would be a surprising bootee, so I'll stick with my choice since we do not have other evidence. I think the Swedish switch (1 player) is the most credible of the switch theories, and that OFA will get the extra vote from TPFKAS (The Player Formerly Known As Boron) to force a tie. Alternate choice - Theresa. Alternate theory is that MB is hyping the twist to death and it turns out to be piddly. In that case, things will continue along the current track, and Frank will be kept around to win challenges for the kiddies. DK, I bow in deference to your superior wit and fine storytelling abilities and am grateful that you would share such gifts with lowly plankton such as us. (Did I do good, Supe?)   Top

"Kim J" I'm guessing that Survivor will do a 1-on-1 swap between members of two tribes. (It worked in the European version, or so I heard, so why not try it again in the American version?). Now the question is who will be swapped. Boran will probably pick Kim J to be swapped because she was partially responsible for loosing at least 2 of the previous challenges (and she freely admit it during interviews). I think Samburu will pick Teresa and not Frank because they still need a strong male for some of the tougher physical challenges. The swap probably won't change the outcome of the IC because I still see Samburu as more fragmented and dehydrated. So they will loose the IC again. And they will be forced to vote out Kim J because they will perceive her as the weakest in the tribe.   Top

Clarence on the other hand DOES have votes, but I'm not sure he's as far up the creek as the others. I don't think that Silas and Lindsey will be in the same tribe, so either one of them will be the bootee. (Note, if I am to believe the rumors about Lindsey having a hospital stay, and assuming that it takes place while she's still in the game and not after she's booted, then Silas would be my numero uno choice.) I'm going on the assumption that it's an early merge, in which case Silas is a goner. Frank and Theresa have no loyalty to him; it would be an 8-4 vote. In a Swedish swap situation, if Silas stays in Samburu, the former Boran member might side with F and T and force a tie that Silas will lose. Even if Lindsey stays in Samburu, I think F and T are currently more fed up with "the grinning idiot". And if merge is still at ten, they can afford to let him go. So for that reason I think that whoever Frank and/or Teresa end up with, they will tell that person to vote for Lindsey, and she will lose any tie breaker that happens. I still have to say that MamaKim and Teresa are the most vulnerable, but because I am buying into the idea that something big is going to happen, I am going to guess that Lindsey and Silas are the most vulnerable due to their votes. Setting “the twist” aside for a moment, and looking instead at the editing and character development, who are the potential bootees this week? Frank’s character his evolved to become the “good guy / underdog”, shown last week carving the names of his children on his torch. He’s was shown to have a plan, and ready to “go behind enemy lines”. He’s not going anywhere for a while… Kim P. and Clarence have been given the roles of tribe narrators. For the sake of continuity, MB would have chosen narrators that would around at least until the merge. Assuming no early merge, MB's narrators will be safe for the next two episodes. Big Tom has still got a lot of weight to lose, so he’ll be with us a bit longer. Lex has been edited as the secure leader of the Boran. This weeks insider clips gave us some insights into the less popular side of Lex that has yet to be developed. He’s safe. Ethan has been staying in the shadow of his Boran alliance with Tom and Lex. His character is still underdeveloped as well, so he’ll survive the shakeup this week. Carl’s comments about being “surrounded by beautiful women” on safari and Diane’s friends, Carl, Linda, Teresa, Lindsay, Silas, suggests that Brandon will slip by another week. While Teresa is a logical target under the current situation, it is very possible that she gets swapped into a safer position or is insulated by those with previous votes. Regardless of the reason, she hardly spoke at all in the last episode and is still completely undeveloped as a character. With everything else going on this week, I can’t see that there will be enough time to develop her character, just to dismiss her later in the show. So based on the editing, that leaves, Lindsay, Silas, MamaKim or Kelly. Kelly’s Mallrat necklace seems to indicate that she gets swapped to the Samburu in which case she would be safe because of previous votes for Silas, or Lindsay. MammaKim was edited as the obvious choice for Boran, which must mean that Samburu goes to TC this week. Silas or Lindsay seem to be vulnerable in the event of any of the swap options discussed. And Silas could be “selected” because of his strength or saved for next weeks challenge for the same reason. Lindsay has previous votes, is damaged goods, and part of the “bad guy” alliance. Seems like her time has come. As I see “the twist” playing out, the tree mail calls for a 3-way swap (mixes up the tribes, breaks up any alliances and divides up all food, water and supplies 50/50), Lindsay is left a Samburu, Silas is traded to the Boran, the new Samburu is 3 Boran/3 Samburu with Lindsay as the only Tribe member having received previous votes. It's not earthshattering, and unless Burnett breaks the survivors into TWELVE tribes, there is no way to guarantee "every friendship and alliance will be shattered --that's just marketing crap. My gut tells me we're looking at a 1 for 1 swap, with the tribes picking who they want from the other tribe. Boran values STRENGTH above everything else and doesn't think much about women's strength, so they will focus on FRANK or SILAS. Even a hillbillie like Tom knows a good, strong, young bull when he sees one, so expect them to take SILAS. In Samburu's camp, the GXA will control who gets picked. The GXA obviously doesn't seem to like anyone over 30, so Tom, Lex, and MamaKim are out. The leaves Clarence, Ethan, and Kelly. If they are SMART you think they'd grab Clarence or Ethan, but my guess is that the girls and Brandon will think that they would have a better chance of bonding with another 20-something girl. ...Ethan and Clarence both probably come across as too serious for the GXA. Therefore Kelly is the favorite for the Boran refugee. This week will still have a tribe vs. tribe Immunity Challenge and Boran (sitting on probably 70+ gallons of fresh water still) will once again defeat Samburu (who last we saw had no workin boiling pots left and no fresh water.) Teresa and Frank will try and grab Kelly and vote with them for Lindsey, but Kelly will go for safety in numbers. Not only don't you not want to make enemies your first few days in a "new school," but she also doesn't want to give the GXA any reason to vote her out once the merge happens. The GXA decides to keep their beast of burden (Frank) for a few more days and sends Teresa packing... Kelly is relieved as not only is Frank is the enemy she's made, but she knows he still hates the core GXA even more and realizes that with other GXA members having previous votes, she will not be his primary target.   Top

Webby, AyaK, sleeeve, MakeItStop, and others have made the same arguments that were already telling me Teresa. I believe we'll see a 1-person swap, that Boran will rip Silas from the stunned GXA, and that the silly GXA will pick Kelly, who will stick with the cool kids. Boran (Strong Male Alliance Runs True-to-form or SMART) wins IC and that saves MamaKim for a lil bit. Kelly's the new swing vote in Samburu. After her "don't work and don't think" stint with the Boran Daddy figures, she will steer towards "something completely different." She can't know for sure how stupid these slackers have been, as she'll hear both sides. I've heard Kelly think on Insider, and she very much likes someone else to be the target so she can continue on. By that way of thinking, she knows she'll be third wheel with Frank and Teresa, but last choice boot in the GXA. Mo better for Kelly! Also, the Lindsey hospital boots put her illness in early August or at least two episodes from now. I think Teresa takes the safari, and Lindsey goes to hospital just post-merge. Teresa severely lacks face time, and this bothers me, but I have seen her Insider clips and she's NOT that interesting or camera-worthy. She flew UTR but on the losing alliance, as did Nick. So maybe Burnett decided not to bother to develop her because she never does anything of note and she happened to get booted on a very busy episode when the bootee was not the center of interest. -------------------- Edit: I doubt MamaKim goes on safari because Jessie said she didn't really like her and they all seem to bond when they travel together. With Teresa and Linda gone, Kim J becomes the sole surviving woman over 40 in a camp with fewer women than men at merge. Thus she's undisputably the Mother figure of S3, and her nickname becomes truly appropriate. In the Insider Clips Kelly and Clarence call her Kim on their walk, as of Episode 4. If she can make the merge she has a chance of sticking around (although I doubt she could possibly win), because the youngsters will be fighting to kick out the bossy Alpha Father Figures, and Kim's not bossy. --------------------- Oh yes, and to my dear dangerkitty: As a writer I am not fit to lick your scorned kibble. We've only got a few "spoilers" to work with, such as they are: 1. Susan says that the twist causes people to vote off the weaker members. 2. Alicia says that the realignment doomed the GXA. 3. Diane doesn't list Brandon, Frank or Kim P among her friends. 4. Carl was "surrounded by beautiful women" on his safaris. So far, those beautiful women consist of Jessie (OK) and Diane (ugh), since Linda didn't go on safari. We also learned a couple of things from watching the game: 5. MamaKim is the weakest link in Boran. 6. Teresa would go next (without the twist) in Samburu. 7. If the twist is a 1-1 swap (seems most likely to me), Samburu is in trouble, because there could be a 3-3 tie, and Lindsey or Silas would leave based on prior votes. First things first: either Susan and Alicia both know what they're talking about, or neither does. I'm going to choose to believe that they do, and that a weaker member gets voted off in E5, while a member of the GXA gets voted out in E6. The weaker members are Teresa and Mama Kim (and Brandon the Flamingo, but he's not one of Diane's friends). Either could go. But I'll go with Teresa, for no good reason. Alternate: Mama Kim. Oh, and a truly enjoyable summary, dangerkitty!
