LAST EDITED ON 10-31-03 AT 03:01 PM (EST)

October 31 2003 Halloween

Today's show opened with Rhonda asking Cassie what her plan was to raise money for college. It is day 6 of 10 of Cassie's deadline to raise money that will be matched by Finiancial.com. So far she has raised $550. Her plan is two fold.
First she wants to sell $10 raffle tickets door to door or on the street. First prize being a dinner for two prepared by Cassie and served in the SO house. The second prize is a session of Andy's Beauty Boot Camp.
Secondly, she plans on making phone calls asking for contributions. It is unclear where she will get the names of people to contact.
Predictably, she is having a hard time accepting help from Rhonda, her housemates and a coach that was brought in to help her with her phone presentations. And, brother, does she need help with the phone soliciations!
But she relents, at least with Andy, and hits the streets of Chicago. Andy was doing a fine job of hawking those raffle tickets! Cassie eventually warmed up and got in the game. They looked like they are having a good time. Especially when a man wanted to but a ticket for the All Day
Booty Camp.
Christine has a date with Charlie. Preceeding the date he sends her a beautiful flower arrangement. Lilies, roses and some other flowers I couldn't reconize, all white , very classy.
Andy prepped Christine by going shopping with her and giving her a mini beauty boot camp application of make-up.
Charlie shows up. Good looking and well built. He's charming, nice and actually talks about his feelings. He's very affectionate and Christine eats it up.
They go to dinner where he holds her hand and feeds her. Yep. Feeds her. And on the first date! He is tells her how beauitful she is and Christine's eyes get that smokey coy look. It didn't take her long to get back in the saddle for not having a date in 8 years!
They then jet over to a Jazz club, but not before Charlie lays a lip locker on Christine which is just a warm-up. They get comfortable by lounging in a backroom filled with sofas. Charlie begins to play footies with Christine. Literally. Off comes Christine's shoe, then comes the giggling, smiling and smooching. Again, here on the first date! Yee Haw for the foot fetish. This guy definitly has a sensual side. You Go Girl!
Cinderella notices the time and remembers her 1:00 curfew. Not wanting to end the date, she invites him back to the house. Andy, Cassie & Nyanza are giddy to see him back at the house and Christine's face all lit up. There's more making out on the SO couch in a semi-reclining position. But feet do not leave the floor !
Finally she sends him home, but not before walking him out and smooching in the driveway in a full embrace.
I tell you, they were acting like two kids.
Andy finally moved her stuff into Nyanza's room and was excited about the closet space. They were like two lovebirds with the closet. That is one thing they have in common, they both love their clothes.
Kimberlyn got her first introduction to driving at the Midway Arcade on a simulated race car video/game thingy. Baby steps. Baby Steps.
Lori is taking Andy's move to Nyanza's room way too personal with the plaintive cry of "Why does everyone want to leave me?" All the while wearing that pitiful soulful face with her eyebrows arched up, her lips turned down.
Guess what, Lori, it is not all about you all the time. Geez, can you step outside yourself for a moment?
Nyanza had almost no face time today. Gee, wonder how she is gonna cope with that! But, for me, it was a nice break not to hear her big mouth either talking up herself or talking down someone else.

Kimberlyn
This new woman doesn't seem to fit in the house. Her goal of learning to drive is too simple, in my opinion. I didn't like the idea her life coach made her take a train and bus back to the house though. That was pure mean.

I was thinking the same thing. Learning to Drive ?? Let's say there is more to it than that; they should at least mention it.

The other women have more complex goals that involve either emotional, self worth or self esteem issues. They have goals that overlapp, also.
Like Christine wants to lose weight and start daiting. Lori wants to let go of the death of her husband and start to trust again. Andy wants to refine her career goals and learn to trust women enough to start having more meaningful relationships. Nyanza...well, she's just Nyanza. Her motaviations are another post.
I don't think it mean mean of the Rhonda to make her take city transportation. I think she is trying to make a piont about convenience and having more control over the time it takes to travel from one place to another. It did show how much time is wasted waiting around for the bus. And time wasted having to travel to parts of the city you don't need to go to in order to get where you are going.
I think it would have been mean if she made her do it in the rain and late in the evening.
How did they come up with Kimberlyn? Surely there are more women out there with a little more interesting goals that people could relate to. Don't ya think??

Somebody help me out here, I missed the big date episode. No offense intended at all, but Christine is a large size gal and I noticed that the matchmakers did NOT mention this to the man they were setting her up with (unless they cut it out or re-shot it). I felt they were misleading him and setting her up for disaster. That just felt so wrong. They mentioned she was 5'8" blonde, beautiful, etc - all true, but knowing how men can be, the guy could have been expecting a model type. What was his reaction to her?

Oh, trust me, he did not seem to mind. They flirted like 2 kids in the resturant then went to a jazz club where they sat on a couch in the back and played kissy face, then they went back to the house and did some more touchy-feelie.

The 2nd date they slept in the hammock all night! His testosterone is on high, just as Christine's hormones are on overdrive.

About you comment on the dating twins not telling her weight, my impression is when someone says "she is all woman" that should be the 1st clue! lol

Christine is a woman deserving of love and attention. No matter what SIZE she is, REAL people see who is on the inside. He's a good looking gentleman and she is a beautiful woman who has worked VERY hard to lose 20lbs and open herself up to what could be rejection. I can't imagine how scary it must be to go on your first date after 8 years of no dating at all. If my husband was to die I can't imagine opening myself up to dating again. It sounds like her late husband was so caring and special to her and her daughter. For you to focus so much on her size and how she didn't say in her profile that she was a size 14 is ridiculous. You can tell by her face that she's not a size 4 and any person with half a brain could figure that out not that it matters.

To appreciate how much Christine has lost I dare you to go to the grocery store and pick up a 20lb bag of dog food and hold it for fifteen minutes. Then you will realize how hard she has worked for the last seven weeks. 20lbs in seven weeks is HUGE!!

I admire Christine for realizing that she can be happy and in turn will show her daughter how to have a healthy happy life without sacrificing who she truly is.

You are taking that post WAY too seriously! Goodness, please don't make this site into the official SO message board.

I'm stating an opinion just like you have. If you take it so seriously I have no control over that. I'm just discussing the show on a message board however I choose to. Official SO message board? Not sure what that is supposed to mean but take it all in with a grain of salt. Nothing personal.
