"Prime-time news conference?"
CNN.com is reporting that Bush is planning to hold a news conference tonight at 8pm "to discuss with the American people the latest developments in the war against terrorism": http://www.cnn.com/2001/US/10/11/ret.attack.bush/ Does anyone know anything more about this? It doesn't say anything about whether the major networks will carry it, or how long it will be. Given that it's in prime-time, it would seem likely that the networks will carry it, and Survivor will be bumped or preempted. The CBS website doesn't say anything yet about this. I suspect that means the air time won't be affected at all for those of us outside the eastern time zone.

Actually, 8pm Eastern is the same time as 7pm Central, though those in other time zones may be okay. We'll have to wait and see what the President says and whether it is worthy of the news departments pre-empting Thursday night pay-the-bills programming with breaking news.

i think they will play survivor after the speech. They know that they will be getting good ratings.
Only bad thing for me is that I have to tape is so now I have to set it for the whole night just to make sure.
