"Garden and Gardener"
This is my first message to spoilers(have posted some on bashers). For some reason, I've a feeling Kim Powers might be a good contender(already noted for Astrological reasons on Bashers)...and I was thinking about the garden at Samburu tribe(discussed in TV Guide). If this is the main source of food, then the gardener would be a needed asset-and Kim P. says in her bio that she loves to grow veggies and herbs, loves to cook, and notice her favorite magazines. Perhaps gardening, though not very exciting, gives a new bent to true survival in the game. If she has these skills, coupled with a strong body(says she likes triathlon...does that mean she participates?)and a good mind(has a cat...aren't cat owners about as sneaky as their cats? I know I am). Or maybe I'm just out on a limb(a vegetable limb).
Ideas?

1. "RE: Garden and Gardener"
Good stuff, Mockingbird. Since they can't hunt and the water is dangerous (at least too dangerous to camp near; whether they can fish it is something I'm still trying to find out), if they want to supplement their cornmeal diet they have to grow their own or forage for it, so gardening skills would be a plus, at least initially.

2. "Sounds like no fishing..."
From the TV Guide Article...
-----------------------------------------------------------------
There probably won't be much fishing, either, because the few natural springs that will be accessible from the campsites don't contain anything bigger than minnows. And the river is off-limits, not just because of the crocodiles, but because the water is potentially teeming with nasty little worms that can enter your bloodstream and cause serious illness.

Which means that, more than ever, the tribes' ability to manage their food rations — this time it's cornmeal instead of rice — will be critical to their success. And if any protein comes their way, it's likely to reflect the diet of local tribespeople, who herd goats and cattle and often enjoy warm milk mixed with fresh cow's blood.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
It sound like they may arrive at their camp sites where they will find thorn brush already cut for them and a vegetable garden already planted for them. The vegetarians may have the upper hand, unless all the Challenge rewards are meat!
