I just started watching the show a few weeks ago so I'm not a fan of anybody's. But I thought his performance was incredible (He really belted out those high notes.) It peaked my interest for the song and so I obtained the original version and Kelly's version as well and now I'm hooked on the song. Comparing Kelly's version with his, I would say his was better (compared the high notes).
I was surprised that he had the 2nd to least number of votes. I also thought it was the best of the night.

Wow, Anthony did a great job tonight. I have not been an Anthony fan but he sounded like the guy from Styx tonight--Dennis? when he sings "Babe"....can't remember other Styx songs just now, but in any regard, Anthony did well and I will be shocked if he is the one to go home tonight.He started the song sitting down on the steps of the stage, and as Paula said, the song had a beginning, a middle and an end--his voice grew with the song and it was his best performance. Randy was critical of the beginning of the song but liked the rest of it. Simon did not like it but he said it was the type Anthony's fans would love. Simon and Randy seem hesitant to say much encouraging to Anthony. His hometown spotlight showed his parents and his story can only help him.

By now, anyone who has read my posts knows that I am a Savol fan!
I have to agree with you geekboy - Scott was pretty much on pitch tonight and whereas his song selection may have been a bit weak - he sang the song well - controlled, on pitch, nice ending.I do agree with some posters here who say Scottie's life story is helping to pull voters in but I do believe there are those who do like his voice and believe he is worthy of their vote. Let's talk about stinky: Carrie - sounded like she had a cold - under pitch for the entire song! Constantine - face it - performance was the pits - probably won't ever enjoy that song again after the butcher job 2nite!
IMO - send him home - he'll be okay - just give him a mirror - he loves himself you know? These two deserve to be in the bottom two and I predict they will be! Simon mentioned to Vonzel a few shows ago that her performance was not memorable. Or maybe he was talking about her song choice. Anyway, I think that may still be Vonzel's issue and why she may be the one to go this week.
