OK, we've finally found something Constantine can't sing. This is a HARD song that was given a wonderful production in the BeeGees' version by Arif Mardin. Unfortunately, Constantine needed to be as good as Barry Gibb. He wasn't. But it's still a great song.

Just getting ready to do the same thing, Snidget.Tonight's theme is Dance Tunes from the 70's, or basically, Disco. Constantine sings 'Nights on Broadway' by the Bee Gees. He's wearing black trousers, black shirt and white jacket. He gives a very theatrical performance but does a good job selling. Randy says he reminds him of a Vegas lounge singer, Paula loves him and says whatever he does he'll sell a lot of records, and Simon says it sounded like a waiter in a Spanish restaurant.

The song is intended to be about the "hippie days" of 1967 fading away. The inspiration was the "be-ins" at Golden Gate Park. Jimmy Webb, the author, was always into melodrama in his lyrics (By the Time I Get to Phoenix, Wichita Lineman), and he added lots of melodrama into this simple song.

Ayak, from what I have seen so far, you seem to have quite a grasp on the music field. I found myself cringeing, waiting for Carrie to stop that screeching at the end. I like Carrie, but I'm not sure she's going to take it home as Simon thinks. Could you explain why it wasn't Carrie's fault? I wouldn't be surprised to see her in the lower 3 tonight.

So far the only noticeble person has been carrie. I watch these threads and can clearly see people's own prejudices and the like coming into play. In my opinion (and I'm more a bo person than anyone), carrie nailed it tonight. Anwar was blah, scot boring, vonzel eh (sorry do not get the vonzel love, really, nadia was much better), anthony was a lame duck. regretfully I missed constantine, but from everyone so far carrie is clearly at the top of the list , dolly parton looks aside.

Based on tonights show I am torn. Everyone did kinda decent. The two I really didn't care for were Constantine and Carrie which is surprising. I don't like Constantine but he usually does pretty well. and Carrie is usually really good. I absolutely loved Bo and Vonzell even though I though Vonzell did a more Whitney version but hey. Based on overall shows I am ready for Scott to go.
