They both had great performances (which should well get them into the Top 12), but I fear they appealed to similar bases with the songs, both older songs, some of the most famous ones done by two legendary artists, both with a really strong ending note. And Scott has had more publicity than Nikko. If Nikko is gone, it is a definite chance to criticize the producers for not giving the singers somewhat equal time in the audition/Hollywood episode.   Top

I have to say, as an overall show, we lost three performers who would not have made a major impact on the Top 12, and one guy who I think would have been able to make a truly notable impact on the game in Nikko. I'm happy Scott's through, and they did their idiotic road ahead dances. I'd be tempted to hold up a sign in that where it says "I don't do idiotic dances", but I can't sing and I'd never reach Hollywood on the show.   Top

Well, it's their own dern fault, except for me. *I* voted for him exclusively, since I knew he hadn't been featured, and wasn't being as heavily hyped by the judges as a few of the others. I really thought he had a unique voice, and a differnt style. I was looking forward to seeing more of his performances, but I'm sure he'll be quite successful regardless. I also think he got screwed by the new boy/girl format, and I'm willing to bet that the two eliminated guys got more votes than a few of the girls who made the finals. Blah.   Top

MSNBC always has a poll after competition nights (to view it, you have to read the article relating to the previous night--you'll see a link saying "Who was your favorite?"). I just double-checked, and the bottom two men were Travis and Nikko, bottom two women were Janay and Amanda. Kinda interesting--I wonder how often these polls actually predict the outcome correctly? Anyway, Nikko was robbed. I guess Cleveland gets on the phone and votes more than St. Louis. I have lots of family in Northern Ohio, and apparently Scott's been getting a lot of press up there. Of course, the real travesty is that it was between Scott and Nikko at all. Constantine isn't even in their league, vocally. Guess it isn't all about how well you sing after all, Simon. LAST EDITED ON 03-11-05 AT 10:26 PM (EST) Some of us obviously like Constantine more than Nikko -and in my case more than Scott as well. I do not see/hear why Scott is in the final 6 of men. He has a fine voice but not one that would move me when he sang and his overall performance is not as entertaining as Constantine's. I think Scott may be one of the first 3 out.
