jurymember 68 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Hollywood Squares Square" 08-13-00, 01:01 AM (EST) "Sleuthing for Clues...One Clue puts Rich and Sean in Final Two" LAST EDITED ON 08-13-00 AT 01:02 AM (EST) I went to NSI.com, which has a whois database to tell you if and when domain names are registered. All but two of the castaway names were registered in June by a Max Cooper in California (probably a cybersquatter?) The two that were independently registered? Sean and Rich. SeanKenniff.com was registered by a firm in Minneapolis a few days AFTER Max Cooper grabbed all the other names. Richhatch.com was also registered a few days later....and is already up and running. YOU MUST RUN, DO NOT WALK, TO THIS SITE. (note, richardhatch.com was already taken, so he had to settle for richhatch.com) What is disturbing is that he has a picture of him and his son (he is barely the same guy) and talks in the text about being a Harley Davidson nudist. Maybe I'm old fashioned...or maybe I don't understand the nudist mentality, but, as Cooleen would say: GIMME A BREAK! Sean wins. He went out and hired an ad firm to get a domain name and have a site launched the day after his winning episode airs. You watch!   Top

His luxury item was a razor. While it looks like he may win, I don't think this is necessarily evidence. Of course, it certainly doesn't point against the castaway who is starting to look like a frontrunner.   Top

Anyone could have taken the same idea as the "domain squatter" and grabbed up the remaining 2 legal name sites. Don't put to much emphasis on a "SeanK.com" !! there are so many cyber squatters and Porn rely sites out there, that it could be just another LAME Webmaster trying to attract business. But the odd thing is that Max Cooper had the chance to get Sean and Rich's name at the same time he got the others but for some reason did not....this to me is very very odd. Maybe Max, located in California, works in some way for cbs or mb, who told the two winners to go do their own domain name/web site thing and then authorized Max to grab the remaining names...just in case.   Top

Sean is much less popular or media worthy than Gervase. An explanation might truly be that he does win and as you've said hired great agents, etc.. He has written a book - or so it is rumored - also. Someone alluded to him hiring people to answer his E-mail. This might be getting too suspicious. Sean seems to be the man with some pretty good connections. If so, lets work backwards again. 1. I seriously dought that this is anything more than a squatter or fan that put up this site. The picture looks like Rich from maybe 3-5 years ago. The entire text is in the third person. The page looks very amaturish at best. Do you not think if it was rich's personal domain, that he would have put some real money or effort into making a good site?? Do a view source on the page and check out the HTML. VERY AMATURE!! It promotes nothing yet, has no email contact and only link is to CBS website about the show. It appears to me someone is squatting the site, Wants to show large internet traffic because of the domain name and seel the site for some money.. PS. haven't the other site yet, But the Name Richard Hatch is also the name of the former Star of Battle Star galactica..."APPOLLO" I will look to see if i can CAPLOCK into the Sean site!!!! Again Playing Devils Advocate it probably is Rich's personal site, but that doesn't make it a clue to his position or order of his removal from the ISLAND.. On the Sean issue he is blatanly attempting to Prolong his 15 mintues of fame any way he can. He wants to be in the media, hence his phone calls to the NY radio show after Jenna's boot, defending his ABC's. At this point in the game Sean will gross anywhere from 45k to 1 million depending when or if he is Booted. The fact that he has agents etc. just means he want to continue to have a career in the Media Limelight. So far, Stacy, Jenna, Gervase, and even BB have continued opportunities because of the stint on Survivor. They are currently Marketable. If they wait 6-8 months they will be past news. "Carpie Deum" Seize the Day. Sean is just more blatant about it than the other, plus has the "LOOK" to be marketable. some say Media Whore. some say STAR? You decide!!   Top

I know it's a Rhode Island firm that designed the site because if you go to whois.com and type in Richhatch.com it shows who registered the name and who hosts the site...it gives the address too. (hometown!) I agree that Sean for some reason likes being a "star." BUT...think of it another way. What if his mindset is that he HAS won and is now getting his ducks in a row to milk it for all it's worth. The agents, the book, the web site, the attempt at an acting career, etc. etc. Is it just me, or does he remind anyone else of Seinfeld? Maybe it's just that New york thing.   Top

First of all, Jenna was registered by the same person as Sean was and the same date, June 8, 2000, and BEFORE Rich and the others. Rudy and everyone else but Rich were registered by Max Cooper on June 22, 2000 and Rich was registered on June 27, 2000. First a site for him was registered BEFORE the others, and his site and Jenna's site were taken by the same person, Dave Rein, so there is no scoop here as your theory is wrong. Here is what happened: Richard Hatch, the movie star from Battlestar Galactica had a domain registered for him in December of 1999 (and a working website subsequently created), so it was unavailable for use by Survivor Richard Hatch. Jenna and Sean had domains registered in their names on June 8, 2000, by Dave Rein, probably a cybersquatter. On June 22, 2000 Max Cooper registered the remaining names, again probably as a cybersquatter, but couldn't register Sean, Jenna's or Richard's domain names since they were already registered and probably didn't think to try to use the shortened RICHHATCH as a domain name. On June 27, 2000, Rich or someone representing him (the registrant's location is listed as Newport, Rhode Island, Richard's hometown), unable to register as RICHARDHATCH, registered as RICHHATCH. It is doubtful that there is any spoiler here about Sean winning because of the fact that Sean AND Jenna are registered to the same person, not just Sean as you stated in your OP. -- Rat -- The other white meat --   Top
