These extended intros are really cool. The only problem I have right now is that most of these people are so darn likable that I'm going to have trouble rooting against any of them. I've only seen two people I want to slap so far, although I'm sure that number will increase as the series progresses.

First time poster, love lurking in the background, but am dying to know why I've seen several referals to the Cincinnati family (Linz brothers and sister) as "team media whore"? I especially like their hometown Tshirts, "whodey" (cincinnati Bengals, and the St.X shirt) I suppose I'm showing my Cincinnati affiliation.
Personal observation: The Geghan family is truly obnoxious. Everyone seems to think the little girl is cute, but with 25 years in child care, I'd think I'd have to sit that child in a serious time out. Snot nose little brat! Thinks she can eavesdrop on the other families! Duh! Like someone won't catch on to her lurking around! Can't wait until next week when they have to carry the stretchers at the Civil War battlefield reenactment. Wont' do much good when those 2 little rugrats sit back watching their parents, while the other families having 4 able bodies. All the 5K marathons won't help them there.
And arent' they the same family that the mother made the snooty ##### comment "don't imagine that any of these other families have any travel experience outside the U.S., we're world travelers! Gag me while I'll burn my passport!
Basically, I'm waiting for them to getting eliminated, so the challenges can't truly get "challenging".

I arrive home, turn on the TV to heard a team suggest that maybe they should get a map.45 minutes, I don't know how much time that represents - but now they think of getting a map? Yes, they do. As I said earlier (^points up^) the on-screen reference as "The Black Family" is somewhat unsettling, but that's their name - descriptive enough, I suppose, for us to differentiate the teams. The other teams are more difficult to differentiate on the first episode, and their cute kids seem to be younger than the cute kids in the Black family. I'm sure no disrespect was, or is, intended.

Darn! I really wanted to see how the Black family kids would react, seeing the rest of the country or world. Maybe TAR will do another season where they stipulate that some team members must be under-age. I do hope the other teams with under-agers will fare well. At least long enough for the kids to see and experience something outside their normal sphere. The adult-only teams? Right now I don't care so much about how they do.
