"Isn't this teamwork we are watching?"
Isn't it even remotely possible that Dr. Stan, Rhonda and Iyanla are a team, working together and planning what is best and necessary for each woman and then working on methods that would help within the whole household? Why does everybody seem to think that these PROFESSIONALS are acting on their own inititative and in their own behalf? IMO, they are not competing with each other; they are complimenting each other and with only one intention - the good of their clients, the women who have trusted them to help them.

Some posters think that the intention is ratings and advertising. Okay, every show has that intention. But is every show designed to provide a safe setting where women can come together and face difficult issues? It might be more interesting for some to watch the show like a big puzzle and be able to see where what one LC does feeds into and supports what another LC is doing and then Dr. Stan provides the next clue to the HG when they have gotten what the LCs provided for them. Isn't it even remotely possible?

1. "RE: Isn't this teamwork we are watching?"
The LCs and the Doctor are working with the producers to decide what they want to have the women do, what they would like them to say, and then the producers take it from there and edit it to show what they want. I love the show, but I need to always remember that it's up to the producers what we see. Sometimes it's obvious, like when Kimberlyn was kicked out for not co-operating with her "assigned" role. Or when Layne was obviously being directed to where Karen's booze and pills were hidden. And then sometimes we learn it after the fact, like with Bethany when she had to wait til after it was all over to let us know that producers were told she had a brain infection, not a trauma, and that's what led to her memory loss. In spite of the producers' cynical attempts to twist things around, there's still enough there to keep me watching, and once in a while there's an Audrey or a Sommer to get my dander up. Good exercise!
