"Any leaks on themes?"
Has anyone read any leaks on what the theme will be this week? Has it always been 60s/motown for the first week?

Personally, i wouldn't mind ditching the whole theme approach alltogether, and letting the contestants pick a song each week.

Anyway, what do i know. Any leaks at all?

1. "NO idea"
In some ways I like the themes (shows who is versatile and who is not)...but I also think there are too many finalists to do that many themed shows. It worked well in the first season because there were only 10 finalists. Now, perhaps it's too much.

Motown week is usually my favorite - there is SO much to choose from (something for everyone), plus it's my favorite kind of music. I also love Big Band week. I could do without disco week (not so much because of the music, but because it's so much more restrictive in terms of choices), though.

I don't like the idea of the contestants getting to pick their own songs each week, though. Most will sing songs that are in the comfort zone and that would get boring after so many weeks. 10 weeks of Whitneys, Mariahs, etc. - no thanks

I do like the 'judges pick' week (I think that's usually when there are four remaining). The judges do a good job of picking songs that are good for the singers while being a little bit of a challenge for them. I suppose there's too much possibility for sabotage if they did this more than once, though.

I'd be fine with themes if they refrained from cheesy ones.
