PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate
attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't
be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats,
but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other
posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out
how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are

Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."

Oh, come on! It's not like CBS pulled the series because they were afraid of me! Just because I've spent half the week plotting out my initial lines of attack on Penny -- you should see the diagrams: I've actually got something the history books says is a 'pincers movement' going -- it does not mean I was responsbile for the cancellation. After all, just because you found me near the body of Forever Eden ---- and My big, fat obnoxious boss -- -- and The Casino... Oh gawd.

LAST EDITED ON 01-14-05 AT 12:42 PM (EST)The sad thing is that despite the crappy time period, a lot of the non uppity highbrow TV critics liked the show (I just got my copy of Entertainment Weekly today and it lists The Will as #2 on its "The Must List") I mean they aired the thing in the worst time period on their schedule, a time period where, despite its loyal following, even Big Brother only does about 5.5-6 million viewers when it airs there in the summer -- what did they expect? It aired on an extremely atypical Saturday night in which ABC broadcast a NFL football game that drew 24 million viewers -- and despite that, The Will still drew more viewers than the last episode of Clubhouse did when CBS moved it over to Saturdays earlier this fall -- not sure what else they expected. NBC's special Apprentice 2 Saturday Boardroom editions only averaged 3.8 million viewers -- taking that into account, expecting a new show like The Will to deliver more than 4.2 million versus NFL football is somewhat unrealistic. Yes, The Will's numbers were below what CBS had been averaging in the time period with Cold Case/CSI/Survivor/TAR/etc. repeats, but a guilty-pleasure show like this was completely misscheduled by CBS, right down to trying to launch it during what was (due to the NFL playoffs ) one of the most competitive Saturday nights of the year. Guess they already had something else slotted to air versus next month's Superbowl broadcast. If its cancellation hadn't been made such a big deal by the media, I'd have expected another buzz-seeking Viacom network like maybe VH1 or Spike to have pounced on the chance to air the show, but who knows know. Frankly, I never understood why CBS picked up the show after ABC dumped it to begin with... talk about eating from the dumpster. -SB
