When I say I think the money is not AS important to him as his experiences, that does not mean that the money is not important to him at all, (that would make him crazy!!) LOL He needs the money, for his wife, house, dog....but he made choices to be fair and honest throughout the show, thus placing winning the money second.Matt has not played the game by scheming, and stabbing people in the back and saying later "it is just a game". The majority of reality show contestants do just that. Matt has kept his word and been honest to his friends. He has played the game humanely, not money-hungry. More simply, he has not done the things that people normally do when money is their main focus.
He stated truthfully what he would do with it if he won, stating that he would put a few extra dollars in the charity box, for instance, instead of the one or two that he normally puts in. A person desperate to win that money could easily have lied at that point "in the name of the game".
Anyway, I enjoy the show and I embrace the way Matt defends the underdog. I like that he is kind to all the actors whether they are "the ##### and the a--hole" or "the quack" and "the gay guy". I like that he is a typical "guy", even! His faults make him funny and human!! His evenness and kindness in his dealings with people, I think, will see him far in life. Can't wait for that last show!!! LOL
